About this deal

Some parents report using it successfully with an 18-month-old, but most say two is around the right age to start using a toddler alarm clock.

In 2007 I was having a shower, when an idea arrived in my head for a children's clock that would help my son William to know when it was time to get up in the morning. We chose to do it manually as J likes to say goodnight to the face on the clock – I like this feature as it is friendly for the child and they can relate to it like J does.

Great review and you must be really delighted to get that extra half am hour sleep – at such small ales 30mins still means a lot! Since bringing this into our bedtime routine BattleKid will now actively look to get into his cot, without the protests we were getting, ready for his story (or nap if during the day). Our nap and bedtime battles have all but ceased and the Gro Clock has slotted so easily into our bedtime routine. Introducing the Ollie the Owl Groclock, a fun new twist on the award winning Groclock and a new addition to Ollie’s family.

passed the stage of wanting to press every single button on Mr Sun (which prompted me to set the key lock function on! It uses LED’s which are naturally energy-efficient and 1 hour after Mr Sun comes out the display turns off the coloured LED’s and runs on just a tiny amount of electricity. It is this combination of the simple glowing images and the bedtime story book which has already made the Gro-Clock a phenomenal success. Hi, I’m Harps, an award winning blogger who shares my journey of motherhood after experiencing post natal depression and an unexpected diagnosis of Down’s syndrome. As a lot of parents do I have been dreading the lighter mornings as it means that the kiddies will be getting up even earlier than before so I started to look for a solution. We had no idea our Grobags would take off in the way they did and after just a few years, we were selling over 500,000 Grobags a year across 26 countries. The clock itself displays 12 blue stars which go out one by one as each hour passes so that once all of the stars have disappeared, a bright yellow sunshine appears and your child knows that its morning. Not just any clock, the Gro-Clock helps children to understand and recognise the difference between sleep time and getting up time.

You can set the time that you would like the children to get up, after this you then press a button and the countdown to morning begins. The Gro-clock is a brilliant addition to your child’s nursery or bedroom and I would recommend it, not only as a clock or an alarm but also as a dimmed bedroom light. Firstly, as mentioned, we have Mr Sun which denotes wake-up time and Mr Star who denotes sleep time. For some parents this won’t be an instant success, but will help them work with the child to turn it into one.
