Cherry Costello is a cute, dreamer,and good girl (and wow she is half Scottish half Japanese), and she seems living her simple live with her father quite happily, but the main problem is she keeps lying to make herself looks good in front of others and she knows it. Eager to please her new family, Cherry's coping with Honey's dirty looks by telling stories of her life. The girls and Charlotte also assist Paddy in starting a chocolate business by organizing a successful chocolate festival, and Paddy's chocolates are in high demand. I get it that he was trying to give Honey space, but what kind of parent makes his child sleep in the garden. Je trouve, au début du récit que son adaptation dans la famille de Charlotte (la nouvelle compagne du père de Cherry qui se sont mis ensemble en reprenant contact via internet car ils étaient à l’université ensemble) est un peu compliquée. We also see that Cherry is a great story-teller; she has an incredible imagination and lies almost everybody with stories about her boring life to make it look greater. She's the only aspect of the book I really didn't like, but I can see that her emotional journey was an important part of her family's lives. J'aime l'environnement cosy d'une grande maison Bed and Breakfast du bord de mer et j'ai hâte de découvrir les autres filles au chocolat !

I felt like the romance was a bit off – the two characters make out as if they have chemistry when they really don’t… or at least haven’t had enough time to develop any. What is nice also how her new family happily accept Cherry and her father, well, almost all her new family, not Honey. The Tanberry family were quite a close bunch, with fourteen year old Honey, Skye and Summer the twelve year old twins and eleven year old Coco. Cathy lives in Scotland with her family and of all the jobs she’s had, writing has to be the best – it’s the perfect excuse to daydream, after all!I can definitely see why I used to love these books, and whilst I don't anymore, I can still like them - though nostalgia may have a large part to play in that. The story concludes with Shay and Cherry traveling by canoe after Cherry is slapped by Honey and her lies as the canoe breaks down. I won't stop you if you would because honestly, apart from the flaws mentioned earlier, this book is also about family and a bit about self acceptance.
