About this deal

Some of these things are the excellent PHA-4 Standard key action, more built-in sounds, onboard Bluetooth connectivity as well as the Piano Partner 2 app which considerably expands the FP-10’s capabilities. It makes it much easier and quicker to change instruments and settings than using the Function button combined with piano keys. If you’ve found that Korg pedal units use the same 1/4″ jacks as the KDP90, there’s a chance they will also work with the FP-60/FP-90, but I can’t say for sure cause I haven’t tested. There’s a special 8-pin connector on the back of the FP-30 that will take the signal from all 3 pedals. You can even connect to a world of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) thanks to the Bluetooth and MIDI connectivity.

All the connectivity is on the back of the FP-10, which means you have to get access to the back of it when you want to connect anything, including headphones. It is however great fun to layer piano with strings and play ballads, or select an electric piano and pretend you are Ray Charles for a few minutes. Are you really going to change the tones or other settings of the PX-S while you're connected to your DAW?

The jack on the headphones that come in the bundle is too large for the dedicated headphones port on the back of the piano. This could be because of the altered touch sensitivity setting, or position of the keyboards themselves.

Another example of polyphony consumption is when you’re playing along with a song playback (can also be your own recorded performance) or auto-accompaniment. I also found it easier to play near the back of the keys on the FP-10, so the pivot point seems to a bit longer as well. The same standards like a metronome, transpose, split, twin piano mode and some built-in songs are present here. We have been in business for over 30 years and will always do our best to be as competitive as possible. By the way, I do not have FP-10 anymore- I considered FP-30X but got A-88 mkII MIDI controller and use Pianoteq sound emulation.

The technology creates unique sounds between the sampled velocities to recreate the finest details of an acoustic piano. The new FP-10 actually has a lot in common with its older brother – in particular, the high-quality piano sound and hammer action. You may wonder how it is possible to have 32, 64, or even 128 notes playing at the same time, if there are only 88 keys and we never play them all at once. There is definitely a little bit more clarity and detail coming out of the S1100, but in terms of the overall depth of sound, the FP-10 more than holds its own.

So, you need to be sure to save your settings using the Memory Backup function if you intend to use them again. With their free hand, the user can carry a lightweight stand (available separately), and the frequent performer might also consider purchasing a dedicated transport case, such as the Roland FP-10 Keyboard Case made by Thon. I would like to know if there are any good digital pianos that have a built-in MIDI velocity control (? The FP-10 includes 17 songs to listen to (classics mainly by Chopin and Debussy), and play along with, and a further 15 songs that demonstrate the instrument sounds built into the piano.Key off resonance is a subtle sound happening when you release a played note, and the damper falls onto the string to silence it, producing a subtle sound, which also changes depending on how fast your fingers leave the keys. The graded hammer action is both sensitive and responsive, allowing fast repetitions and delicate phrasing. Piano students will appreciate the built-in metronome for tempo practice and the possibility to share the keyboard with their teacher during lessons using the "Twin Piano" mode. I’ve shared some more thoughts on this in the Comments section of FP-30 review (see comments around May 27th). I have a fully functioning 602 programmable Casio calculator, the printer and the interface for the cassette deck.
