About this deal

McLaren boss Zak Brown said "the impression is very positive and the direction in which they are taking is the right direction" while Red Bull's Christian Horner told Sky Sports F1: "The purpose of today was outlining the blue sky thinking Liberty have. The positive thing is they are really focused on the fans and creating a better show and a more affordable Formula 1." The PU must be cheaper, simpler, louder, have more power and reduce the necessity of grid penalties. New fans will welcome a complete and highly illustrated guide to the history of F1, while older fans will be able to compare their own views of what were the pivotal moments of change, in a book written by experienced motoring writers with two lifetimes worth of knowledge of the sport.

We've seen before that with this generation of cars that any of these small bumps can make you spin and have a pretty heavy crash." Formula 1 is a very fine machine, that is for sure, but is it enough to say that Formula1 is the highest category of racing? But I must say that this argument is a bit over the edge, as no F1 team took own car to Indy and raced. Technology? Massively higher than in any other motorsport formula. For a while Group B could argue differently, the tech going into the last of the Gp B cars was astonishing...esp the engine tech. Lancia's twin charger set up, 3 diff 4 wheel drive on the S4 was the equal of anything being done in F1 at the time.

The regular Indycar thread participants, of which I was one for many, many years, have long blasted any trolling or baiting from those that don't see the sport in the same light........and then we have threads like this....seems like an open invitation for a flame war in any Indy thread, which will only produce crap dialogue, or none at all. A must-read for completists or for those new to the sport, F1: The Pinnacle is a fascinating insight into one of the most exciting and dangerous sports in the world. In F1, far more than in any other series, success demands near-perfection in many departments: in abilty, execution, planning, teamwork, application, know-how, creativity, funding, political agility, decisiveness, readiness for risk, farsightedness, attention to detail, preparedness, fitness, motivation, competitivness, toughness, and tenacity, to name a few. This applies at both the individual and the team level. When Prost signed for Williams in 1993, he had a clause included in his contract that his teammate could not be Senna. Williams has by far the best car and gives Prost his fourth and final title. Senna comes to Williams the following year but crashed in the fourth race during the Grand Prix of San Marino, which tragically resulted in his death.

Based on Bernie Ecclestone, Formula 1 is also growing financially. In 1978, Ecclestone took over as president of Formula 1 and made circuits pay more to organize a race. Participating or staying away was the motto of Ecclestone, who was very hard in negotiations with circuits and teams. Formula 1 is growing under Ecclestone into a multi-billion dollar business, as we know it today. Stupid post. Sure, there may be more overtaking moves in other series, but that doesn't make them better. There are more overtaking moves when I organise a karting race with my friends in 12 laps than there are in most F1 races. A not totally dissimilar argument may emerge from the World Basketball Championships. Fellow basketball fans would probably understand my point better.

Total Control

Pointless agument, you obviously dont appreciate what the Drivers still have to do, nor have you ever driven a race car yourself to post this and I'm sure you love jumping into a modern car with all the benefits that have been derived from F1 technoligy that you complain about which makes you hypercritical. Someday we will have legitimately 22 of the best drivers in the world driving the best cars in the world Verstappen continued his winning streak. Verstappen won the sprint race on Saturday in the United States. At the Circuit of the Americas, Verstappen started the. Grand Prix from sixth and worked his way to the front with a good strategy. Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton felt they could've won the event but had to settle for P2. That was later removed from them due to a disqualification. I think the evidence that F1 is indeed the pinnacle of motorsports is the immense difficulty that both teams and drivers have in competing in this sport.

of fans say that in the future they want to watch the live races on TV, while 13.8% say they want to watch online. F1 was what got me interested in motor racing a LONG time ago, when it had some of the best drivers, was unpredictable, exciting, and yes, indeed a bit dangerous - and when it gave an underdog a chance to shine on his best day. None of that remains today, except still attracting some of the best drivers, but most of them have not a showball's chance in hades to win a race, ever. Therefore, F1 has gone from pinnacle to nadir for me. I deliberately missed the Spanish GP with palatable disdain for what was predictably transpiring, and was glad I did so. With 95% of all F1 races, it turns out to be the right decision to just ignore them. Technical changes aimed at levelling the playing field for the teams combined with the sport’s tightening budget cap have made the races closer than ever. There will be more sprint races – trialled in 2021 – and greater fan interest driven by Netflix’s hugely successful ‘Drive to Survive’ series. I think that the yawning chasms which currently exist between the various racing series is depriving folks today of seeing drivers compete outside their normal series on a regular basis and seeing just how good some of these drivers really are. I am certain that many in the F1 seats would do very well elsewhere and that there would be some drivers whose performance might well prompt a query as to why isn't he or she in F1?You haven't really watched IndyCar have you? Also, I'd take Barber, Laguna Seca etc. over Paul Ricard and other tarmac-fields any day. Seven-time champion Hamilton, who qualified 11th in Las Vegas last weekend, said: "The car doesn't feel bad. I think we're not in a terrible place; I just hope we get some more running on Saturday. Multiple race winner and multiple times vice-champion in F1 Rubens Barrichello struggled in Indycar. Now multiple F1 champion and legend Alonso doesn't even qualify for a 33-car grid. North American open wheeler series > F1.
