However through all of this progress, and creating what I still think is the very best (and most useful) golf gadget on the market, there was one complaint I still heard over and over and over again: I forgot to charge my device as soon as I got it, so I plugged it into the USB port in my car on the way out to the course – so it only had about 20 minutes to charge, which Iwasn’t sure would be enough to get me through the round.
I did pull out my phone every few holes to keep an eye on it, and during my first round I also had one caveat. Once charged you do need to ensure the device is turned off before storing it away in its pouch otherwise it will stay on standby and you’ll be left with not enough power when you need it. I can’t use it when when I’m wearing a coat. I’m guessing the combination of the Link being covered by my coat and the noise my coat makes when I’m swinging results in too many missed shots. I’ve read similar comments from other users, so I don’t think my situation is unique. Arccos Link is a small device that you clip onto your belt that recognizes all of the shots you hit using the Arccos Caddie system, without having to have your cell phone on you.We have used the Caddie Link for over 20 rounds now and it has had almost 100 per cent shot detection success, only missing a couple of finesse greenside wedge shots - a definite improvement on the previous method. As you’d expect, the most important upgrades to the Arccos Link Gen2 are under the hood. The most significant improvement is what Arccos is calling advanced microphone enhancements. On its face, that’s not particularly sexy but it should prove to be a big deal. If you have an Apple Watch with Arccos it makes the experience that much better, as I could easily add penalty strokes or extra putts directly from my watch.
Yes, as all your shots are now recorded by Arccos Link you will be able to play music on your smart phone or via a Bluetooth speaker.They followed that up with the system being built into grips making for the best user experience yet.
