About this deal

Unlike the other new AV receivers from this manufacturer ( 1) , the Denon AVR-X2700H only supports 8K upscaling at a maximum of 30 Hz. This is an amplifier with 7.2 channels and 150 watts per channel. Support for Dolby Atmos, DTS: X and 8K / 60Hz, 4K / 120Hz Pass-Through, HDR10 +, Dynamic HDR, ALLM, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos are also available and more. Of course, eARC is also on board. Voice control through Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri-enabled devices remains, as well as all the wireless standards for music found in the previous model, including AirPlay 2, HEOS, Spotify and Tidal. Equipped with a flexible 6 in/2 out HDMI interface, the AVR-X2700H also supports a wide range of High Dynamic Range video formats. These include Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. It also supports HDR10+, which enhances picture realism by sending dynamic Meta data to your TV, as well as Dynamic HDR. In short, whatever the format used by the film, game or stream, the Denon supports it. A phono input is included to directly connect your turntable, allowing you to enjoy your vinyl collection with high quality sound. Dual subwoofer outputs provide smooth, room-filling bass with no peaks or dips to immerse you with powerful, full bass. With Audyssey Room Correction, use the supplied microphone to perfectly calibrate the AV receiver to your room for optimum sound. In the climactic moment in which the sandworm first bursts out of the sand, the powerful synth elements of the score, piercing brass and booming effects have more separation than with the 2700, where they almost sit on top of each other. This moment can be underwhelming and almost choked on some sound systems, but the 2800 gives a bit of space to each facet for a more coherent, dramatic presentation. It also feels like there’s a touch more dynamic headroom revealing additional detail and helping to create impact through more than just sheer bass. There's also a European version with DAB, which is somewhat more interesting, but that's not available in the UK, presumably so that the price here could be kept as sharp as possible. Whose interest is aroused, however, has to wait a bit: The AVR will unfortunately not appear until September 2020. It should also be mentioned that it also has Bluetooth and can process ALAC, FLAC, and WAV with up to 24-bit / 192-kHz. It is also compatible with 2.8 / 5.6 MHz DSD files (DSD is SACD’s audio coding format). The measurement takes place via the Audyssey room calibration.

The sonic improvements over its predecessor are marked, even if it’s the 8K passthrough and next-generation gaming technologies that steal the upgrade headlines. Denon’s engineers have worked their magic once again and we’d encourage new buyers to opt for the AVR-X2700H over older models for its extra ease and expression. As a member of Denon’s 2020 X-Series, the AVR-X2700H also features Audyssey speaker calibration technology, just like its bigger brothers. However, MultEQ XT measurements require only a few tweaks before we’re completely satisfied with the setup. Enjoy your favourite 3D audio formats: Enjoy immersive, 3D audio with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X. Voice control is available via Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri-a compatible devices, as well as AirPlay 2, HEOS, Spotify and Tidal services. Although Denon’s pricier AVRs have a more advanced version of this software and an optional upgrade for alternative software from Dirac, a basic, step-by-step calibration process is always a welcome feature for those configuring the amp for themselves.

It’s an easy and effective listen. No matter how hectic the action becomes, this Denon never misses a beat. It passes the laser blasts from speaker to speaker in a wonderfully coherent manner and, no matter the scene, creates a genuine sense of place. Denon’s engineers have worked their magic once again and we’d encourage new buyers to opt for the AVR-X2700H over older models for its extra ease and expression.” ’What Hi-Fi?’ – 5 Star review. As impressive as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound, it’s not always possible to accommodate the extra speakers. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X Height Virtualisation technology go some way to help fix. Play any Dolby format and enjoy a more immersive sound with virtual height enhancement – using your existing speakers. DTS Virtual:X also creates a more enveloping sound from any DTS codec. Compatible with 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker configurations, DTS Virtual:X gives the impression of height and immersive sound.Despite the price hike, the AVR-X2800H still sits at the head of the class, just as its excellent predecessor did. Been having a bit of a lurk about after a long break from AVF, it was the classic 'everything has been working fine so why change' scenario hence not been around for a while

Below you will find the further technical data of the new Denon AVR-X2700H. The receiver will be available from September 2020 for 649 dollars. The DAB version is somewhat more expensive and comes on the market at the same time for 679 dollars. Specifications Denon AVR-X2700HIt's called driving, Marcus!' proclaims Will Smith during the opening road race sequence of Bad Boys for Life. You could also call it a perfect demonstration of this Denon receiver's ability to lift and separate high and low. After only a few seconds with this AVR, I was hooked. High frequency surround effects such as the swirling sands, whispers of the Bene Gesserit and reverbs are clear and crisp, helping to build an expansive soundstage that feels precise but not overly diffused. Of course, the weighty delivery and warm sound that Denon AVRs are known for is still there, but with a slightly less dominant bass. Although some may miss its colossal impact in big explosive scenes, the compromise seems to have resulted in snappier timing and a more balanced top end. All Zone TV audio: Play the audio from your TV to another zone for your favourite shows without losing fully discrete surround sound in the main zone. Phono input: With the included phono input, the AVR-X2700H lets you connect your turntable and play your favourite vinyl records. Enjoy your collection with exceptional quality and sound. As the baby of the 2020 Denon X-Series, the AVR-X2700H has a slightly lighter version of the Audyssey speaker calibration technology than its bigger brothers. Nonetheless, the MultEQ XT measurements need only a few small tweaks to the levels before we’re happy with the set-up. You can also switch between two sets of Audyssey measurements if you can’t quite make up your mind.

The Denon AVC-X6700H, AVC-X4700H, AVC-X3700H and AVR-X2700H (DAB) AV receivers use the latest HDMI technologies with a dedicated “8K” HDMI input for 8K / 60Hz and 4K / 120Hz video Pass-through and support for new HDR formats (including HDR10 + and Dynamic HDR). It’s a big win here for Denon. There are many cheaper AVRs but none of them is anything like as polished. Its mature approach and effortless sense of timing make for a feeling of home cinema sound that’s authentic to the movie theatre experience, even at an entry-level price.
