About this deal

The differences between them come down to their panel types as the Samsung has a higher native contrast, making it a better choice for dark room gaming.

It has a local dimming feature, but it doesn't improve the contrast ratio because the checkerboard test pattern keeps all the dimming zones on. The default ice blue or any colour selection brings a personalised touch to your monitor and its surroundings. For reference we are testing the FB02 version of the screen and have updated to the latest UK/US official firmware v1007. The C32G75T has a local dimming feature, but it performs terribly, and even though it displays a wider color gamut, its HDR performance isn't much better. The G7 also has a local dimming feature, which the G5 doesn't have, but it doesn't add much because it performs terribly.

Some users have specific requirements for a very bright display, while others like a much darker display for night time viewing or in low ambient light conditions. This did deliver a better overall gamma setup, but seems to introduce some minor banding in darker gradients. You can't adjust the brightness of the display when this feature is enabled, but it'll maintain whatever brightness you set before enabling the feature. We wanted to test here how uniform the brightness was across the screen, as well as identify any leakage from the backlight in dark lighting conditions. It has excellent gaming performance because of its 240Hz refresh rate, very fast response time, and FreeSync support. Its narrow viewing angles make it less ideal for co-op gaming, but luckily, it displays deep blacks if you want to game in the dark. Although it has a Multi-View feature, it isn't a true Picture-by-Picture/Picture-in-Picture mode because you can't view images from two sources at once, and instead, you can only split the screen between one external source and one built-in app.

It's also impressive for work use as it has a large 32-inch screen with a 4k resolution for sharp details, and it delivers accurate colors if you want to use it for photo editing. This monitor comes with Samsung's proprietary Tizen smart platform built-in, unlike older Samsung gaming monitors. Also, there are many bugs with it, and monitors like the Gigabyte M27Q X and the Dell Alienware AW2723DF offer the nearly same gaming performance for a cheaper cost, so unless you really want a monitor with a VA panel, there are better options. We can't replicate the same flicker some people have experienced in games (see Refresh Rate) without knowing the exact game and settings used that caused this flicker-like effect.
