The sleeves are nearly ripped off, it’s loaded with cuts and tears, and he’s got a series of belts around his torso holding it together. Two minor nitpicks are that the shotgun is strangely small (the barrels are as thin as his fingers), and that it doesn't include a base. The vacant black voids that make up his eye sockets look great and they have cracked fissures in the skin running all around them.

NECA didn't include certain significant props like the shovel, the film axe, the Kandarian dagger, and the Naturom Demonto, so I could see those helping to anchor a second release. The Ultimate Ash action figure comes with four interchangeable head sculpts, chainsaw, mechanical hand, wood hand, hand stump, photo of his car, and shotgun that fits in a back holster.This definitely captures his younger appearance and NECA did a great job on the details of the outfit. As soon as I came back home that summer I convinced my dad that we should head to Blockbuster and check out the other films. While the mixture of horror, comedy, and coolness of the future films is probably what makes them so endearing to me it's easy to forget just how crazy and horrific the first film is and how different the character of Ash Williams is in the film. These are all superbly detailed and consist of creepy smile, open mouth snarl, and wide open “I’m going to swallow your soul” mouth. But NECA’s been good about doing the creatures in this one, as this is the third version of the Demon Spawn.

And I’m really glad they snuck this version in before the end of the series, because it represents what I consider to be two really standout episodes.
