About this deal

Safe sleep is at the heart of everything we do. We know it can be a scary time when you have your baby, there’s so much to learn and so much to worry about. Sleep is important for everyone so here are some tips to keep your little one safe at night: I used it daily during a heatwave last year when my daughter was a newborn as I was worried about my flat being too warm and I found it easy to move around the house wherever she was napping. Do not place your Groegg over or very close to a radiator, in direct sunlight or by an open window.

Yes! The Groegg2 is relatively small in size so can be stored away when not in use, although I tend to keep it on display all the time in my home. It also fits into my changing bag or overnight bag for trips away whenever I choose to take it with me. The Lullaby Trust and Health Professionals recommend that the ideal room temperature for your baby is between 61F/16°C and 68F/20°C, and ideally at 18°C/65°F. It's warm weather and my Groegg is red and showing an unhappy face. What shall I do? The Gro-egg glows yellow if the room temperature is within recommended guidelines (16-20C), if the temperature is outside this range, it acts as a reminder for you to take action to cool or heat the room, or to adjust your baby's bedding or clothing. Digital temperature display: The soft silicone dome-shaped room thermometer features a permanently lit LED display for an accurate temperature reading of the roomLaura Westerman is an editor, writer and Deputy Head of Editorial Content at Mumsnet. Mum to a one-year-old, she is extremely passionate about safe infant sleep, so is fully invested in finding the best and most affordable baby room thermometers on the market. Do your best to increase the room temperature. We recommend using a thermostatically controlled heater in the room where your baby is sleeping. Make sure that neither the heater or cable are within reach of your baby’s cot. Keep baby warm by adding extra layers of clothing, but always make sure your baby’s head is uncovered. If your baby has become cold, give them a warming cuddle or a warm drink before returning them to their cot with extra clothing or bedding. My Groegg doesn't read the temperature I think it should Room temperature is vital in creating a safe sleeping environment for your baby and should be maintained at 16-20C to help reduce the risk of cot death - " Babies who get too hot are at an increased risk of SIDS. Getting a room thermometer will help you create a safer sleep environment for your baby." Francine Bates, Chief Executive of The Lullaby Trust As room thermometers go, the Groegg2 is reasonably good value for money, with a price tag that’s similar to other Tommee Tippee room thermometers as well as thermometers from brands like Purflo and Philips.

Grace: I would choose this product over similar on the market as it is a trusted brand, an easy to use product and looks good and inobtrusive on the shelf. It is not much different to the original groegg but does look a bit nicer, however I would happily buy the original groegg if there was a significant difference in price. It can be hard to get the right balance though, which is why parents are choosing to invest in a digital room thermometer to give them peace of mind while their baby is asleep.
