I have reasonably treated room and after a few months of use, I don't think that I need and sub woofer with these monitors. The HS8 is equipped with XLR and TRS jack connectors as well as Room Control and Hi Trim response controls. The HS8S subwoofer is equipped with XLR and TRS phone jack inputs and for outputs XLR for L and R and EXT SUB out.
