Now is the perfect time to start a daily diary. And a dot grid notebook is ideal. Record thoughts, impressions, memories and ideas – whatever helps you to de-stress or process your day. Just use the horizontal dots the way you’d use lines in a ruled notebook. It may take a little practice, but you’ll be into the swing of it after a line or two. As you go throughout your day, you can mark items as complete. If you don’t complete all of your daily tasks, that’s okay! Review your Daily Log, figure out which incomplete Tasks are worth working on tomorrow, and migrate them to the next day. You can mark incomplete items as “canceled” or “migrated” if you wish.
Write the name of the next six months in each section. Let’s say you're starting your bullet journal for the new year. You would write, "January" in the first box, then "February," and so on. If you were starting your bullet journal in May, you’d write “May” in your first box, followed by “June,” “July,” and so on. If you are new to bullet journaling you might not know exactly what a bullet journal collection is. There are so many pens that I can’t say what will be your favorite. But I can recommend some old favorites of mine that are tried and true: For example, creative goals could be signified with a star, work could be signified by a simple bullet point, hobbies could be signified by an arrow, bills could be signified by a small dollar sign, and personal topics could be signified by a heart.

Reply It’s just the right amount of print to keep things aligned while not distracting from your writing or creativity. An added bonus, if you like to post your work on social media, it’s easy to fade the dots so it looks like you have perfect penmanship without any help! I’ve never tried dot journaling but since my current haphazard method isn’t working, I’m excited to try it. My favorite brands of pen include, amongst others, Pilot, Sakura, Tombow, Staedtler, Faber Castell, and Crayola. I love how chill everyone is about bullet journaling. It’s sort of like we’ve all been burned out on the “wrong way” of doing things in the past and going too hard too soon. I like your idea that it essentially boils down to a pen & a notebook. Whatever you do from there is up to you although here’s some ideas, rather than “this is how you do it and if you miss a day you may as well not do it anymore” which is how I think we’ve all felt before.
