A Good Value Weather Station This weather centre is good value though it would be improved by a decent owner’s manual to assist in setting it up, explain its functions and a better-lit screen. This would be no small effort and not without risk, but Tenzing and all the Sherpa working on the mountain recognized that the weather stations provided several direct benefits. In its upper left corner, the display unit shows forecasted conditions for the next 12 hours using any of its six different icons — sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, stormy, snowy. In addition to replacing the highest weather station, the team performed maintenance on the four other automated weather stations lower on the mountain. All these questions can be viewed on the clearly arranged colour display - you will find information such as temperature and humidity for indoor as well as outdoor, as well as the exact time via DCF radio transmission.The Nevado Ausangate station joins those previously placed on Chile’s Tupungato Volcano, at 21,342 feet; on Canada’s highest peak, Mount Logan, at 18,500 feet, and at several points on Mount Everest.
