The middle was a little drawn out and I found my mind wandering as I read, but I really enjoyed how there were opportunities for predictable and cliche plot points to happen, but the authors avoided that and had the couple communicate. I think them trying to make a Christmas movie ruined the story for me, because otherwise it had interesting elements. And it’s not even like she’s doing it because she’s got an insecurity about it, she literally comfortably gets naked on camera every day. Two talented queens have created a masterpiece that readers will be laughing about for years to come. The story alternates between Bee, who has a job that is considered taboo and Nolan, who is an ex-boy band member trying to make money.

A Merry Little Meet Cute is a diamond-tier rom-com filled with laugh-out-loud hilarity, and sizzling spice. The way Nolan is constantly objectifying Bee during his inner dialogue made me want to punch him in the face.

I loved that the predatory nature of some porn was juxtapositioned with a very positive representation – the way Teddy runs Uncle Ray Ray’s, Bee’s mothers’ approval of her work, the way ClosedDoors was represented as being a safe and income-producing option, as well as Nolan’s acceptance of it. I wanted to be able to give this one a higher rating solely because of the inclusion of a fat FMC who also happens to do sex work (like, hell yes, more of this rep) but ultimately the good bits, which were more in concept than any kind of execution, just didn't make up for the rest. I would also say that if they made this a closed-door romance, I could totally see it on the Hallmark channel. I haven’t read Sinner yet, but AFAIK Sean reacted to his sister’s death by leaving religion behind him and chases money, sex, and whatever makes him feel good in the moment.

I'd definitely recommend for someone looking for a lighter, entertaining read, which is low on angst and high on fun chemistry. The juxtaposition of the adult film industry insiders working on the Hope Channel movie offers lots of room for hijinks, but there is also a respect for all lifestyles. Now, she’s filming in Christmas Notch, a small town with Christmas trees and festive tunes all year round. Nolan Kowakczk (aka, former boy band bad boy Nolan Shaw) has been cast as the male lead and also has reasons (involving finances and a need to look after his mother – who is unable to work – and his 17-year-old sister).

I love the small town romance aspect, but not just any small town, one of the small towns we see in Hallmark movies! My major criticism of the book is that despite this, Bee ends up not doing more sex work afterwards. Some we receive from the authors, some we receive from the publisher, and some we receive through a third party service like Net Galley. Even Bee, the stronger of the two, just wasn't able to shoulder the burden of this story and I don't feel enough time was really spent with her enjoying the filming and acting process. A delicious fantasy, a filthy fairytale, rich in texture, intensely emotional, and highly erotic with a perfect hint of magic .

I thought Murphy and Simone did an exceptional job of making the story completely seamless and their styles blended together perfectly to make a funny, emotional, and HOT cohesive story. Now, she’s Bee Hobbes, a young actress with a squeaky clean reputation, or the whole project would be scrapped. As Bee was looked over one final time by the hair and makeup artists—and Pearl reemerged from a centering meditation somewhere—I popped a breath mint and tried to imagine I was the duke. Bee wants a chance to act at romcoms to give her two moms a chance to talk about her real work without sugarcoating as movie gigs. A Hope Channel duke who’d never had sex and who never thought about sex and who’d never even seen two horses doing it in a field or whatever.

Or maybe they did expect that, as Bee was a fan of Nolan back when he was in the boy band and she was in high school, and Nolan is a fan of Bianca. A Merry Little Meet Cute is an extra spicy holiday rom com with lots of laughs and lots of very hot love scenes. But it's ridiculous in the same way that a time traveling ducal romance that teaches you the meaning of Christmas is.I went into this book completely blind, saw it a few times on tiktok and stuff and I was like alright let’s just read it. I thought both of them were perfect in their roles, bringing these characters to life, with all their snark and intelligence.
