About this deal
Updated (9/15/17) after taking it out camping, and took off one star, mostly for the deflation issue. Tossing and turning happened on open and closed cell foam pads, RidgeRest, and Therm-a-Rest-style inflatables.
You know a twin size memory foam mattress that packs down to the size of a pomegranate and and weighs 15 grams. After hearing quite a few points of positive feedback, I was pleased to receive the Insulated Static V Luxe as a gift during the holidays.
The result is slight but steady deflation throughout the night if efforts to cap the valve upset the inflate side at all. The Insulated Static V sleeping mat is very lightweight and compact to pack despite its versatility. I tried this pad for the first time and I do enjoy it, however I did find my self hitting the ground when I moved in several positions. I just quick fill the plastic trash bag, wrap the end of the bag over the valve and squeeze the air into the valve like I'm playing the bagpipes.
Beyond wishing the Insulated Static V had the same width, thickness, weight, and size all while being a self-inflating pad (I do love the auto-inflate feature! We recommend this pad for people looking for a warm sleeping pad that doesn't weigh or cost too much. STAY CENTERED: Integrated into the patterning and construction, they provide a secure, comfortable sleep by centering you on the pad and inhibiting air movement while tossing and turning. This was my second trip with the Klymit Insulated Static V and, as it had the first time, it fit perfectly into my backpack. Side rails help provide a secure, comfortable sleep by centering you on the pad and inhibiting air movement while tossing and turning.
