Consequently, ‘Dominion’ falls far short of what is could be; yet, perhaps due to the charisma of its leads, remains a largely entertaining romp. So, a very exciting, handsome film, great entertainment, that just misses the excellence of ‘Fallen Kingdom’. Meanwhile, Dominion’s world premiere took place on May 23, so assuming a similar length of time, we can imagine it’ll come out no later than October 12, and most likely, even sooner than that.

Dominion’ is, unfortunately, little more than a re-hashed attempt to broach that theme, relying heavily on the well-worn formula of depraved businessman trying to ruthlessly exploit nature for higher profit margins. It is good to see Laura Dern and Sam Neill alongside Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, and of course, the always admirable Jeff Goldblum as Dr Malcolm, plus some new and enjoyable characters, especially DeWanda Wise as a tough-as-nails ex US Air Force pilot. The film is also notable for reassembling not only the major stars of the 3 ‘World’ films, but also those from the ‘Park’ set. In ‘Dominion’ that businessman is no other than Louis Dodgson of (presumably) “Dodgson, Dodgson, we have Dodgson here” fame.
