They printed the constructive organization posters in a larger format, renaming them “action posters. It’s perhaps the first motivational poster created, meant to inspire us to hold on to our resolve and battle through whatever challenges we’re facing. It may not be the best example, but this motif by photographer Victor Baldwin made the motivational poster into something socially acceptable. At this very moment a copy of the poster hangs in an outer office of Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau; a vintage copy that previously belonged to his father.

Hang In There, Baby" is cited as one of the more prominent precursors to LOLcats, and there are several LOLcat images devoted to a cat hanging off a tree branch. It also appeared in a Terminator film, on a Survivor episode, the 2003 film The Cat in the Hat, and more. Hang In There, Baby refers to a motivational poster of a cat hanging on to a bar captioned "Hang in there, baby. The posters worked so well to mobilize people to join the Army ranks, in fact, that private companies took note.

The original poster featured a black and white photograph of a Siamese kitten clinging to a bamboo pole and was first published in late 1971 as a poster by Los Angeles photographer Victor Baldwin.
