About this deal

In 2014, Syundei was approached by the managing editor of the manga magazine Opera to draw a comic to fill empty pages in an issue of the magazine.

Floral Motifs: Like any decent love interest, Hirose is often accompanied by flowers in the background when he shows up. NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Witness what the gods do after dark in the third volume of a stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring a brand-new, exclusive short story from creator Rachel Smythe. Aiki Hirose ( 広瀬 愛貴, Hirose Aiki ) Voiced by: Junko Takeuchi (audio drama) [3] Nakamura's classmate, and his unrequited love interest. For months, Nakamura spends most of his times observing Hirose, eavesdropping on conversations to figure out his hobbies.NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Witness what the gods do after dark in the second volume of a stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring a brand-new, exclusive short story from creator Rachel Smythe. Matsumura seems to be obsessed or implied to be in love with Hirose, having physical copies of his pictures from his time during junior-high, and other belongings of Hirose spanning from elementary school. Okuto Nakamura is a shy 16-year-old who cares about two things: octopuses, and Aiki Hirose, the classmate he fell in love with at first sight on the day he entered high school. The art style does actually shift subtly through the volume (something I would have never noticed if not for the author’s note) due to the unusually long amount of time the volume was serialized over, but the basic designs stay consistent and it’s a fun change compared to the other art styles you’re most likely to see in a BL manga from 2017. My only real complaint, besides a small quibble that the pacing takes a little time to find its footing (and learning that this story was infrequently serialized over the course of two years explains that) is that it’s over!

He also has acrylic crab keychain worn on his waist, done as a reference to Nakamura's gift in Chapter 11. Nakamura has fallen in love-at-first-sight with one of his classmates, Hirose–but there’s a problem: they haven’t actually met yet…and Nakamura is a total klutz who might bungle things before they even begin! Also, there is this weird relationship between a teacher and student that I feel coming and I hate it already. Each chapter follows this format, where Nakamura attempts to integrate himself into situations that would allow him to interact with Hirose, most ending in comedic failure. On September 15, 2017, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that it would license an English-language translation of the series.

Nope, instead the power-dynamics aren't really skewed in anyone favor and the relationship actually develops slowly over time. To people who are putting this on manga sites, please make sure to credit the original translator or get permission first from the translators. raises the thorny issue regarding the total absence of female characters in some BL works (or their inclusion only as love rivals or neglected fiancées). Characters [ edit ] Okuto Nakamura ( 中村 男久斗, Nakamura Okuto) Voiced by: Kappei Yamaguchi (audio drama) [3] A closeted high school student. It uses many of the tropes staple of the genre for comedic effect, and has a Butt-Monkey main character failing to make any of them work; however, the cuteness and earnestness of the main romance indicates that it comes from a place of love for the genre.

Thankfully, they leave that fairly vague but it's still icky and I don't understand the purpose of it. The series was praised for its 1980s-reminiscent artwork, [13] [14] with Sean Gaffney of Manga Bookshelf favorably comparing it to Ranma ½ and Kimagure Orange Road. Ngay từ những phần đầu, những đấu tranh tư tưởng của Nakamura cùng với những sự kiện oái oăm, dở khóc dở cười. NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Scandalous gossip, wild parties, and forbidden love—witness what the gods do after dark in this stylish and contemporary reimagining of one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology, featuring a brand-new, exclusive short story from creat . I thought it was going to be a parody BL, with no real romance, but Syundei sensei slotted in a really sweet and low-key emotional scene at the end which stole my heart.Nakamura đã yêu cậu bạn cùng lớp Hirose Aiki ngay-từ-cái nhìn-đầu-tiên; khổ nổi là cả hai đều chưa bao giờ nói chuyện với nhau. It takes a set of stereotypical characters and puts a comedic BL spin on it without ever belittling any of them or reducing them to the butts of jokes in a comedy manga.
