About this deal

was the 15th anniversary of the creation of Bob, Man on the Moon, celebrate with this anniversary edition. He never notices the short green guys who watch from a distance, steal a cupcake from his picnic lunch and crowd into a wordless spread to mug for readers. You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. The dazzling, Norman Rockwell- like, lush coloured images, the dazzling shapes and tongue- in-cheek text add up to a superb picture book. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

The pictures had some striking beauty with their painting like character and they had real humour too and the story seemed OK. I can imagine this story would be wonderful to teach in a Primary setting as there are many directions you could take with the concept of the 'man on the moon' - Space topics, looking at difference and developing visual literacy, among them.Seller has stated it will dispatch the item within 1 working day upon receipt of cleared payment - opens in a new window or tab . Does the book contain anything that teachers would wish to know about before recommending in class (strong language, sensitive topics etc. well, that is something that makes my little daughter laugh all the time and urge me to read the book over and over again. This excellent picture book has enough depth to captivate pupils and is an entertaining storytime choice for Year 1 and 2. I felt it both related to ordinary life (here on Earth) and yet provided some imaginative ideas about a place so far away and only seen (generally) at night.

Bob is a wonderful character and the story itself is simplistic enough to engage any child from three years upwards. Man on the Moon: A Day in the Life of Bob (newly re-issued by Templar) is a truly wonderful piece of art and story alike. Simon Bartram has illustrated four children's books, including PUMPKIN MOON, about which PUBLISHERS WEEKLY said, "Bartram reinvents David Weisner's TUESDAY with grimacing jack-o-lanterns and a hellfire orange gleam. The illustrations are beautiful and unlike any children's story I have come across before; detailed and realistic, they are wonderful discussion points with your children or school class. Since then, it's been a hilarious staple of night time reading, day time reading, Daddy reading to himself, and just general conversation between our children and ourselves.

Templar) ‘Every morning Bob rises at six o’clock… has a cup of tea and two eggs for breakfast before leaving for the rocket launch pad. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Personally, I loved the adult humour - the fact it only takes Bob 15 minutes to get to work on the Moon - and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this to my children; it has become a firm favourite at bedtime. With its colourful and droll illustrations that leap off the page, perfectly matched by the playful text, this wonderful picture book is as much of a treat to read whether you're a 4-year old or a 40-year old (or more)!
