I had the opportunity to present “The Art of Eric Carle” at the 1998 “Out of the Box Children Festival” in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is one of my favorite projects because success is high and students are happy with the process AND product. Carle's art is characterized by bright, joyful colors created on painted tissue paper and then turned into collages using an X-Acto knife and wallpaper paste.

His best-known work, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, has eaten its way into the hearts of literally millions of children all over the world and has been translated into more than 62 languages and sold over 41 million copies.
