Kingfisher Anti Mould Paint Additive” is a broad spectrum, liquid fungicidal additive which can be stirred into most water based paints and surface coatings to impart highly effective mould inhibiting properties to the cured paint finish. It can also be added to our “Kingfisher Weatherflex range of masonry paints in areas where green mould growth is prevalent on building exterior. It is ideal for stopping mould growth on walls and ceilings in properties where it is not possible to carry out more expensive measures to stop condensation.It also doesn’t affect the washability of the substance it has been added to, enabling the mould-free decoration of rooms with the colour of the occupants choosing. The information given in this product data sheet is given in good faith, based on current knowledge and experience. This professional mould additive can also be added to wallpaper paste and tile grouts to eliminate black mould. If you are looking to paint over and redecorate walls and ceilings that have already been subject to mould and mildew, you will also require a good mould wash. In more established infestations mould can permanently stain or blacken the substrate (plaster, timber or paint) and it may be advisable to facilitate subsequent decoration by disguising such staining through use of a proprietary obliterating primer or “Kingfisher Damp Guard”.

It is the user’s responsibility to satisfy themselves as to the suitability and application of such information for their own use.Alternatively, if the affected area is showing signs of salt contamination (white fur) you may have rising or penetrating dampness and you should seek advice from a structural waterproofing professional. Do not overcoat the anti-mould finish (or wallpaper over it) as this will effectively seal in the mould-resistant finish and allow the mould to grow back.
