About this deal

This shampoo works to counteract green hues and remove chlorine with vitamin C, EDTA, and sodium gluconate, while its rice proteins will help strengthen hair and mitigate some chlorine damage. Due to the ingredients, which are rich in humectants, moisturisers, Vitamin E and aloe vera, it's designed to leave your hair soft and conditioned, and is light enough to use after every swim. Dead Sea Minerals, such as Magnesium Chloride and Maris Sal, help to remove pool chemicals, lingering chlorine scents, and saltwater effectively from swimmers’ skin. Additionally, the chemical can negatively affect your overall scalp health, since a lack of hydration can cause a shift in the scalp microbiome (or, the healthy bacteria that helps keep it balanced).

There are a few non-chlorine pools around, they're few and far between but it's worth checking if there are any near you. Made from skin-moisturising properties such as colloidal oats, and botanical ingredients, it hydrates the hair while removing any build-up. The shampoo was actually recommended to me by a stylist friend who recommends clients who use a lot of product in their hair (hairspray, etc) to use this particular shampoo to flush chemicals from hair strands. And since this cleanser features a pointed tip, it's especially ideal to use to target the scalp when wearing braids or twists. Once your hair’s wet, apply some Moroccan oil, argan, coconut or olive oil to the palms of your hands and run through your hair.

It's also formulated to prevent discolouration of hair that has been exposed to chlorine or salt water and is said to leave you feeling fresh thanks to the almond apricot scent.

Beth Gillette is the beauty editor at Cosmopolitan, where she covers skincare, makeup, hair, nails, and more across digital and print. Without chlorine (or other pool-cleaning chemicals like bromine) it wouldn’t be possible to swim laps without the pool turning into a petri-dish of germs and assorted nastiness. Prior to Cosmopolitan, she wrote and edited beauty content as an Editor at The Everygirl for four years. That’s why with our 2 year warranty (starting from the date of purchase) we will replace any defective item that does not live up to our standards of quality and unbeatable value.Circa the aughts, I was that kid who would do cannonballs in the pool every chance I got—splashing anyone in my midst. Speaking of dry, brittle, and straw-like hair, a quality swimmer’s shampoo will also have a moisturizing agent to help repair and moisturize hair. The ingredients in the TRISWIM chlorine removal products work to neutralise and remove the chlorine, bromine, salt water and chemical odour from your skin and hair. Absolutely amazing product that does exactly what it says in just 3 hrs … more than substantial and noticeable change to sore red spots ! Repeated exposure and sebum depletion leads our hair to crack, with split ends and general unhappiness to follow.

So, whether you're camping, hiking, or enjoying any outdoor activity, Decathlon's shower gels and shampoos are the perfect companions. After swimming, you want to make sure that you’re treating your hair right, and that goes beyond just using the right shampoo. Part waterproof MP3 player, part bone conduction headphones, the Shokz OpenSwim are a swimmer’s dream for listening to music in the pool. Not only does TRISWIM detoxify, but with the innovative formula, it also hydrates and nourishes with ingredients such as organic aloe vera, vitamin A and E and pro-vitamin B5.I struggle to find shampoos that won't strip my hair but still clean well enough to remove old hair products. Prevention is key, so ensure your hair is thoroughly wet and wear a swim cap before entering the pool to minimise chlorine exposure.

Growing up as a swimmer, I had this shampoo in my bathroom at all times as a weekly treatment to get rid of chlorine residue and build-up, thanks to the fact that it’s loaded with surfactants to cut through chlorine and minerals.Morad loves using this cleansing cream from Redken on his clients, since it works well to not only remove chlorine, but also build up from air pollution, daily products, and mineral deposits (like copper and iron) that are found in hard water. Another Virtue essential, Vellozzi recommends using this sulfate-free toning shampoo up to twice a week after swimming.
