About this deal

You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. Getting to Jaipur is just the beginning - because waiting for them is an opponent with a terrifying ambition. So when Ajay sees a cash prize for a competition to be the first to find a meteor that has crashed to Earth in India, their very own space-race to Jaipur is on . They need a big story – and when a meteor crashes to Earth, and there’s a competition to find it, Ajay and his friends find themselves in a space race to Jaipur!

Could it be the discovery of a meteorite fallen in Jaipur could give the team the opportunity they need so much? Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. Chicken House) The Mumbai Sun might be printing every morning from the railway station, but Saif has trouble. It seems the printing press upon which he prepares Ajay’s news is time consuming, elderly and on its last legs.

It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. I loved 'Ajay and the Mumbai Sun' and was delighted when the follow up, 'Ajay and the Jaipur Moon' was published. Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling.

Alongside a cracking detective story, we’ve characters who depend upon each other and whom we care for. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! Ajay is an incredible character and as the twists and turns of the fast-paced plot unfold in the most dramatic way you feel like you're part of this ingenious gang. There is lots of action and some nail-biting, tech-inspired plot twists, and the book is divided into short, easy-to-absorb chunks for young readers. This is a gripping and beautifully written book, full of adventure, humour, poignancy and characters so real you feel by the end of the book some of them have become your close friends. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. When street kid, Ajay, uncovers a scandal that threatens to evict thousands of the poorest people of Mumbai from their homes, he knows he has an important story to tell.

I love the optimism and pluck of Ajay and his band of friends and their refusal to let anything stand in their way. Ajay held up the faluda-pink paper in triumph (although sadly, no one else seemed to have noticed his amazing feat of skill and dexterity). Getting to Jaipur is just the beginning – because waiting for them is an opponent with a terrifying ambition. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally). But against some of the most powerful forces in the city, can Ajay and his friends really succeed in bringing the truth to light?

Exciting action sequences and peril - it was so cinematic I could really picture it being played out on the big screen. It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. Thereafter, Varsha Shah offers a background history to her characters, from British colonialism to Jaipur, and then the space race too! After all, it seems that Mrs Surya, director of the WECU space programme understands Ajay’s struggles and seeks to support each of the team. Ajay chased it down, ducking past the railway guard blowing his whistle, around a woman in a midnight-blue sari glittering with tiny mirrors, and through two boys, playing with plastic rockets, to catch it.
