About this deal

As might be expected, each camera struggles particularly in low light, offering little but a noisy mess. These conditions should therefore be avoided. Performance is mostly adequate. The Tab P11 Pro undercuts several rival models available from Samsung by offering a weaker processor, the Snapdragon 730G, which is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. An unfortunate point too is the poor quality of the selfie camera. In a world where video conferencing has become nigh on impossible to avoid, it feels like an oversight. Although there are few included webcams which are ‘good’ in any given device, our presence during work calls was as a ghost haunting the frame - not exactly a good look by any definition.

Lenovo Tab P11 Plus vs. Lenovo Tab P11 Pro: Which should you Lenovo Tab P11 Plus vs. Lenovo Tab P11 Pro: Which should you

In everyday use, the display's quality is subjectively compelling for a tablet in this price range: Content is rich in contrast, and colors look vibrant. Objectively, the measurements taken with a spectrophotometer and the CalMAN software reveal a color reproduction that is too cool (7,966 K). Both grayscales as well as primary and mixed colors show average DeltaE deviations that differ strongly from the sRGB reference (target value of up to 3). The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro is the successor to the P11 Pro, and it's quite a lot more expensive. There are good reasons for that though as it has a bigger screen, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a larger battery. So if you want a step up, this is it. Low-priced tablets with pen input and an optional keyboard are rare in the Android segment. With the Tab P11 Plus, the Chinese manufacturer has now expanded its portfolio with another mid-range tablet that is equipped with an 11-inch IPS display. The maximum temperature on the upper side is 36.9 °C / 98 F, compared to the average of 34.1 °C / 93 F, ranging from 21.2 to 53.2 °C for the class Tablet.

The image sharpness and details of the rear-facing lens are perfectly acceptable for a budget mid-range tablet when there's a lot of light. However, the base sharpness is relatively low in the 13 MP photos. Under defined artificial light, the photos taken by the Tab P11 Plus of our sharpness test chart also look a bit blurry, especially towards the picture's edges. However, the rear-facing camera is very good for scanning documents or text. Running the TechRadar battery test (a full resolution video on Wi-Fi at max brightness for 90 minutes), the device dropped from 100% to 91%, which is a strong showing overall. For the kind of tasks one might traditionally expect of the tablet form factor, the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro is more than capable. Lenovo Tab P11 Pro: battery life USB port transfer speeds are approximate and depend on many factors, such as processing capability of host/peripheral devices, file attributes, system configuration and operating environments; actual speeds will vary and may be less than expected.

In our GPS test, the Lenovo tablet communicates with the GPS, Galileo, and GLONASS satellite systems, as well as with SBAS, but only with one band in each case. Our position can be determined successfully even indoors, but it takes quite a long time for the device to achieve a usable accuracy. The relatively poor signal-to-noise ratio, which was present outdoors as well, is worth noting. It’s a solid tablet for entertainment and the occasional bit of work, and there’s certainly nothing to complain about with the suave cover and keyboard. In fact, the Tab P11 falls just short of a great tablet to recommend. Where things go a bit sideways is with performance that’s not to do with streaming content. The Tab P11 will struggle when gaming, and loading up multiple apps can sometimes bring it to a crawl or force a restart. That’s a shame as it really is a great all-rounder tablet to have, especially since the keyboard and stylus are so easy to use. Since you can connect an optional Lenovo keyboard and pen to either tablet, both can function for work purposes. But the faster processor and better screen on the P11 Pro might make it the better option for that reason. The significantly shorter battery life when web browsing or streaming videos with the P11 Pro also points to the P11 Plus as being the better option if you're looking for a tablet for entertainment. The 7,700 mAh battery should get you through a day of moderate use. In our rundown test, in which we stream HD video over Wi-Fi at full brightness, the Tab P11 Plus lasted for 7 hours and 58 minutes of screen time before shutting down, just about an hour shy of the TCL Tab Pro 5G (9 hours and 1 minute). When the battery runs low, the tablet supports 20W charging, allowing you to add a few hours of power in just 15 minutes. Typical Tablet Cameras Build quality is good. The tablet is constructed from a sturdy feeling aluminum, with a unibody design. There is no creak or flex, and it has a reassuring heft without feeling too weighty. Color options are limited, however this seems intended to be used either in an office or a living room, and ostentation is not a priority for either use-case.Based on benchmark testing, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor in the Tab P11 Pro is more powerful than the MediaTek Helio G90T Tab in the Tab P11 Plus. This will come in handy for multitasking as well as entertainment and other data-intensive apps and programs, like gaming and streaming videos. However, this impacts battery life, since you'll get a good four more hours of use with the Tab P11 Plus when web browsing or watching videos than you would with the P11 Pro. If you're only planning to do word processing and other basic activities, though, the rated battery life is equal between the two. In Apple’s defence, the Air has the edge in a couple of areas unrelated to speed. Its cameras are superior, producing richer videos and more natural photos; but the Tab P11 Pro still offers above-average results. Use this tablet for a Zoom call and you will be among the leaders for quality, and that includes audio capture thanks to effective dual mics. The Wi-Fi module of the Tab P11 Plus supports the 802.11ac standard, which makes the Lenovo tablet dual-band capable, allowing it to use the 5 GHz band in addition to the 2.4 GHz frequency range. The reception quality is good in everyday use. We measured a data transfer rate of about 350 Mb/s with our Netgear Nighthawk AX12 reference router. The speakers are great for streaming music or when you’re watching videos, and even when you’re holding the tablet with both hands, the audio doesn’t sound muffled in any way. It’s great to have this tablet playing music in the kitchen while you’re cooking, or just leaving it in your child’s bedroom to watch some shows on YouTube. There is one final factor in the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro’s favour: battery life. Put through our standard video-rundown test, with the screen set to 170cd/m² brightness and Flight mode on, it lasted for 17hrs 28mins. That’s five hours longer than the Apple iPad Air.

Lenovo Tab P11 Plus review: Budget Android tablet with stylus

Speaking of which, the 7,700mAh capacity in the Tab P11 Plus should fare well for most users, including traveling professionals and students. On average, I got a screen-on time of nine hours before needing to charge the tablet. Even then, the 20W fast charging fully topped up the Tab P11 Plus within three hours, a welcome upgrade from the 5W to 15W charging of competitors like the TCL Tab 10S. The question has been asked again and again: who takes photos on a tablet? Clearly there is an audience, otherwise rear cameras on tablets would have gone the way of the dinosaurs.

The 11” IPS screen here features a 1200 x 2000 resolution, which is enough to enjoy any streaming content. Images appear bright and sharp, and colors were as bold as they could be for a panel of this type. This means that the measured response time is worse than the average of all tested devices (21.8 ms).

Experience less lag while gaming or browsing via the MediaTek® Helio G90T Tab Octa-Core processor with up to 2.05GHz main frequency. Multitask seamlessly with up to 6GB of RAM. Do more while you're away from outlets, as the Tab P11 Plus can play for up to 15 hours* on a single charge of the 7700mAh battery. The four Dolby Atmos-certified speakers of the Tab P11 Plus are distributed across the left and right sides of the tablet's case, thereby creating true stereo sound. However, the speaker array doesn't get very loud at 81 dB. This quality is echoed throughout the build, with an aluminium chassis that feels just as well made as any Apple tablet. On the rare occasions you’ll use the P11 Pro without the keyboard, a dual-tone finish lends it style, and this feeling is only reinforced by its sleek 5.8mm depth. But for me this is merely reassuring, a sign that Lenovo has put effort into every element of the design, because shorn of the keyboard this becomes just a regular Android tablet. It has enough oomph to make it through basic tasks and the interface without issue, but there is significant lag as it tries to perform more intensive work, such as games. This may be due to the high resolution display. The keyboard attaches via magnetic connectors at the bottom of the tablet, and directly interfaces this way – no fiddling around with Bluetooth connections or having to charge the keyboard separately. It also helps protect the tablet when not in use. On Geekbench 5, a set of tests that quantify raw computing power, the Tab P11 Plus earned a score of 500 for single-core performance (SC) and 1,592 for multi-core performance (MC). While it doesn’t have as much raw power as more expensive competitors like the Tab P11 Pro (565 SC /1,779 MC) or the TCL Tab Pro 5G (521 SC / 1,762 MC), the difference isn't noticeable for everyday tasks like streaming video or scrolling through social media feeds. The P11 Pro comes with an older Android 10 operating system while the P11 Plus comes loaded with Android 11 so you'll get the latest and greatest features out of the box. The P11 Pro also comes with Bluetooth 5.0 versus the latest Bluetooth 5.1, which you'll find in the new P11 Plus. This could potentially result in a better connectivity experience, depending on how and where you use the tablet and if you plan to connect Bluetooth devices.
