Much of the writings and daily devotionals bring deeper communion with God with challenging questions. Most of the selected scriptures are short and time should be allowed after each reading for its meaning to filter down from the head to the heart, and to seek the significance of each for that day. Building on the foundations set down in the first volume, this new collection blends the voices of the early Celtic and desert saints with more contemporary sources in ways that continue to speak to us in our own generation and culture. As a companion for the journey, this book offers meditations for the events of life, and liturgies for its seasons.
