Luckily, this trip was quite warm for the mountains – lows in the high 40s plus having a double walled tent along meant I had a down jacket that I wasn’t wearing at night, and could roll up in a stuff sack to get me through the trip. I've used Exped pillows for years, I like the shape and they have a nice surface texture to put your face on.

We enjoyed having it along in our pack, whether we were camping right beside the car or four days deep in the backcountry. Combining a layer of 100% post-consumer recycled Primaloft® insulation with a 3" I-beam baffled air cell and an ultra-soft jersey cover, you get a lightweight pillow that cradles your head nicely, yet packs down as small as a Kefir lime.We redesigned the classic pillow, using a combination of a baffled air cell, thick luxury foam, a soft, washable microsuede or jersey cover, and an ergonomic valve.

This is smaller than the fully compressible models reviewed, as well as some of the hybrid pillows we studied.For those who spend a lot of time sleeping in the backcountry, we feel the Fillo Elite is a contender for achieving great sleep upon a lightweight pillow.
