Originally launched back in 2010, Del Maguey VIDA Mezcal is an accessible mezcal from this renowned producer of agave spirits. The same artisanal care that goes into the single-batch Mezcal Amores releases is also taken over this eye-catching mezcal, which stands out on the back bar.Faintly herbal notes are the first indicator that the bottle is open and they’re swiftly followed by fudge and then a welcome floral scent. Mezcal Verde was created by created by Mezcalero Doroteo Garcia from Mezcal Amaras and extends beyond spirit production. This bottling uses a mix of different woods in the cooking process (which lasts 5 days) to create a smokier profile.

It is another collaboration aimed at supporting the local culture of the mezcal-producing regions - be it farmers, distillers or artists.This is a solid expression of an Espadin based Mezcal and great entry point for Canadians wanting to explore this agave distillate. The labels still feature artwork from Mexican artists, and the mezcal within still impresses greatly.
