About this deal

Another theme that a teacher could use this book to help teach is contentment and being happy with what you have. Scan the QR code on the back cover to join in with the playful rhyming song based on the classic ‘Finger Family’ rhyme! As the cold wind starts to blow, Little Bear discovers her cosy den is the perfect place, after all.

He began by illustrating other authors' books for children, but the first book that he both wrote and illustrated was Kenny's Window, published in 1956. I remember very well myself that I could never sleep when I was a child, not because of the dark but I just could not fall asleep. The adorable Baby Animal Tales series features cute photographic illustrations, making it perfect for bedtime or nap time, with simple stories sure to soothe your little one to sleep and give them sweet dreams.

Marco Polo: When Little Bear finds Grandfather’s sea captain outfit in the attic, Grandfather shows him something even more exciting— Grandfather’s boat! Little Bear is very excited to see him—even if he doesn’t bring the toy Little Bear has been hoping for! The second bedtime book from Northern Irish author Martin Waddell, after the equally delightful Owl Babies, that I have read, Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?

The illustrations are cute, but otherwise, way too repetitive to not be boring, both my 5 yr old and preschoolers had a hard time staying engaged in this story. September 2016 update: reread this book and used it for one of my papers for my children's literature class, as part of my MLIS program (school library specialization). The illustrations are darling and I loved how, in the end, Big Bear wanted Little Bear to confront his fear of the dark, but did so in a very gentle and reassuring way helping him to always see the lights that appear in the darkness.Whether shared at home or in a classroom, the short sentences, familiar words, and simple concepts of Level One books support success for children eager to start reading on their own. Back Cover is plain green and this wraps around forming a plain green line on the left side of the front cover.

Boundless inspiration surrounds her in her daily life, living in the picturesque Alpine mountain region in Victoria along with road trips around Australia in her little vintage caravan. It showed the children that everyone has these feelings and if they try very hard they can overcome them and feel proud of themselves for doing so.First edition hard back binding in publisher's original colour illustrated paper covers, cloth spine. It was relatable to us on so many levels; a little baby bear being afraid of the dark/the unknown and the big bear trying to help by shedding some light on the situation. Little Bear is a collection of four short stories which focuses primarily on Little Bear, his animals friends, and Mother Bear. Big Bear sees Little Bear in distress so he stops reading his book and gives Little Bear a small lantern to sleep with, however, it seems this isn't enough for Little Bear. This book provided one of my most memorable and most treasured moments in the classroom this last summer.
