About this deal

Sure, it’s a dice-chucker, so it’s going to have a pretty large luck element, but if you’re looking for a short game in that vein (similar to, say, Dragon Slayer), I’d recommend checking this one out! Once you’ve done that, reset the casinos like you did in Setup, and pass the Start Player card to the left. Or you might be forced to put it on a casino that you are wanting to keep just to get a small value card but then you end up tying the person in first giving you NOTHING! For that reason, Vegas won’t appeal to players who like to formulate and implement long term strategies, but it will appeal to people who enjoy more tactical, and “press your luck” style gaming.

The majority has to be strict - on a draw, the winnings go to the player with the next most dice, or if all players are equal, the winnings go back to the deck. The lack of real theme, and the abstraction of what you’re doing in the game, make it something that literally anyone can enjoy. It’s a simple but satisfying thing to do with the multiple scoring opportunities and different ways each player can use each roll/flip. There’s no immediate connection to the previous game, if you’ve played and enjoyed it and would be keen on an updated version. Whether you prefer to rake in money in "Las Vegas Royale", trade in central France in the mid-15th century in "The Castles of Burgundy", prove yourself as an influential patrician in ancient Rome in "Carpe Diem" or seek your fortune in the new world of "Puerto Rico 1897": many roads lead to victory. But in most game’s I have played, there is usually at least one moment where one player has a turn that could decide victory or defeat on the base of one final roll. It’s honestly one of my favorites, as evidenced by the fact I’ve already played it 10 times this year.

Organize the pairs from highest total to lowest total (breaking ties by which pair has the higher value card). I very frequently find the casino games so much fun that I end up focusing on those to the detriment of, you know, actually winning the game. Then the player with the second most dice on that casino takes the second highest money card (if there is one). The box is nice and elegant, the dice arena looks nice, and it’s got a very consistent, end-to-end aesthetic. The game lasts four rounds of play, and the player with the most accumulated cash at the end of round four wins. The biggest payouts go to the players with the most matching dice at each casino, so place only what you need to beat your opponents, and keep rolling the rest. When placing dice, you are looking to find the casino with the most money, but where other players have not already dominated with a large quantity of dice, and of course where you have rolled a good number of dice yourself.
