About this deal

It seems the K712 is a bit voracious when it comes to voltage despite its lowly 62ohm Impedance rating.

The treble here is also pretty relaxed and not sibilant in the slightest but could stand a tiny bit of added sparkle. It can sometimes sound slightly hazy or wooly (Thanks Tyll), but I think it mostly depends on the song and how it was recorded, mixed, and mastered. L and R are in the same spot, but this time AKG’s logo appears on the lower circle rather than the text on the 702. As for the MA900, there is no question the AKG is more clear across the board, however the Sony certainly had the more relaxed upper regions and was less fatiguing on the upper end. I was looking for similar tonal qualities a pair of reference headphones and Dalethorn was patient enough and helped me make this choice, so thank you Dale I'm going to focus this review mostly on sound quality and things that either surprised me or disappointed me in other areas. In the case of the K240 (or true similar models), some may be trying to burn-OUT something built-in - negative impulse reactions that make the top end a bit trippy. Last night I was listening to some classical music on one of my other sets and was thinking to myself that some of the detail was still missing. As far as the 702, I’m still leaning towards it overall, but the 9500 has really made a push and is almost as good to me. They're way too bright sounding for music in my opinion but you could always EQ them to your preference.

Ohm impedance also means that headphone output impedance should be kept under 1 Ohm, however, the impedance peak at K712 Pro’s self-resonance is so low, that audible coloration shouldn’t occur. On one hand you can hear instruments and vocals reverbing of sides of recording studios in just about any track on "Kind of Blue". I consider the K712 PRO one of the best overall gaming headphones to date and have enjoyed every second of usage with it online.

K15 high-performance on-ear headphones evolved over decades of experience in the field of conferencing and set new standards. But the best feature (IMO, purists may hate it) aside from the dancing VU meters is the loudness switch. I don’t know how well they can go really low cause my current monitors are only flat down to around 40-80 Hz, but for mixing in a small home studio with sub-optimal acoustics and huge dips in room response they really great.
