For me, the push-down side is a nice touch but not really necessary – particularly as I usually get out of bed to feed in a chair anyway – so I tend to keep it in the locked position. You can grab your baby without getting out of bed between the swivel feature and the lowering side wall. But with all the vomiting, pooping and dribbling babies are inclined to do, I wouldn’t recommend not having a spare. The HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper is a remarkably useful baby's crib which rotates around 360 degrees for optimum convenience and safety.

I wrote my post about the best bassinets for room sharing and what led me to discover the Halo Bassinest. This is great, but I wouldn’t mind the feet being a little shorter as I sometimes trip over them as they stick out quite a bit. Unlike others on the market, the crib is not height adjustable, so measure your bed beforehand to make sure it is not too high.I was surprised about the weight of this bassinet largely because of the base I suspect making this more of a challenge to assemble and more difficult to move about compared with similar products. It doesn’t sound like much to have to climb in and out of bed, but trust me, when you are a new mom and already exhausted, you just don’t want to have to do that! I'm not convinced the breastfeeding timer is of much use and feel that another feature would have been more practical. Assembly was pretty easy; I actually did it while in early labor, just about 12 hours before my daughter was born. As your baby gets older, if you no longer want the side wall to lower, there is an easy lock you can slide to hold it in place.

Halo points out that this bassinet is great for mothers' healing from C-sections due to these features. Now, the only way to honestly know how something will work for you is to use it for months, but my kids are way past the bassinet age, so I will have to rely on my experience.
