About this deal

As long as the gates are under 3mm across and you don’t use the blade tip to cut harder plastics, you shouldn’t have any issues. To build your model you must cut the parts free, and the goal is to make as little mess as possible, avoiding damaging the parts, slicing yourself into small chunks, and scarring the desk below. They compare the cutting process to cutting tofu with a knife on your palm - you want to slice, not push through the part, and ease the force you apply as you near the other blade. The name Gunpla derives from the phrase “Gundam plastic model”, since most kits are made of plastic.

It also cuts much closer to the surface, reducing the time needed to remove nubs using a file or cutting knife. The diagrams show the best techniques, using the thicker blade that I refer to as the anvil to ensure a square cut, using the thicker area near the pivot where the blade is strongest, and ensuring that you don’t twist the blade during cutting, as tempering makes the blade tougher, but it also makes it more brittle than mild-steel, so it will snap or shatter if mistreated. But I’m certain it will make building kits a lot more enjoyable now that I don’t have to deal with the frustration anymore that my old cutters caused me more often than not (building my Gun Tiger was already so much fun with the GH nipper).

We define that ultimate tools as “innovative tools with brand-new function, feature and performance”. For those who paint plastic models, the cutting surface remains smooth and clean even if the blade is cut along the part without leaving a gate, thus shortening the time for gate processing with files or knives.is a line of plastic model kits of anime and tokusatsu characters and is part of Bandai’s Figure-rise line. Premium Bandai or P-Bandai is a range of limited release kits to in some cases certain regions or countries. With very little tension, hold your nipper up to the light; if light shines through, the cutter is no longer functioning properly and would not be giving a complete cut; and if you can squeeze the nipper past what it closes up to, there’s a good chance that it may be damaged in some way. If we’re getting down to basics, you position the blades either side of the target sprue-gate, cutting a few millimetres away from the kit part initially, then cutting it as close as you can when the part is liberated from the sprue.
