Oh my goodness, this story had my heart pounding and loved some of the mental play that happened in this story as well as imagining the physical play, too. She worries about not being good enough, pretty enough, famous enough, all of those things, and the way Wyatt shows her how wrong she is melted my heart. She is fortunate to have been able to travel extensively and as much as she loves to visit places around the globe, the Midwest and its changing seasons will always be home.

Guarded” is a professionally written, highly erotic, fast-paced story featuring a submissive hip-hop star and her uber dominant ex-bodyguard. Generous, caring, workaholic and a closet submissive, she is careful who knows and where she can find satisfaction. He wants a chance to explore the connection he feels they have, or at least an opportunity for closure. I especially want to read a stand-alone book about Piper and Nolan, and not knowing if one was being written or due to be published was my only frustration with this wonderful collection as their story ended with “To be continued”.

First off, I look forward to each and every Black Light story, the anthologies I have a love/hate relationship with. Although this is a short novella it's still packed with everything I've come to love from a Dani René read. She’s shocked to see Lincoln again and to know that he is the one that won the bid for her for one night. So there is more than enough here to satisfy any readers particular desire, and all are so well written that even if the kink in the story is not one that you are particularly into, they’ll draw you in for the interactions between the characters alone.
