About this deal

I’d had a ball writing the superhero strips for Ross, and now I wanted to figure out who was behind that mask. However, it lands Gary with a Brooklyn bat bite on his snout that results in super heroic sensations!

Alternating between Batpig’s origin story and a furious and hilarious battle with his nemesis, Repto-Man, this is a brilliantly funny and skilfully rendered commercial young graphic novel series, with each book containing two separate stories. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. It's a great brain break with some fun characters-- a pig who becomes a superhero "batpig" after being bitten on the schnoz by his bat friend and he also has a fish friend who wants to be a villain now that there's some kind of secret between the pig and bat-- which uses some soda and cheese. Rob Harrell, whom readers know from the wonderful WINK develops the creative inclinations from that novel into a witty, imaginative and very funny graphic novel. Introducing a supremely hilarious graphic novel featuring an unstoppable, super-swine hero who boldly fights for justice .I kept one eye on the news, of course, but a huge part of my brain was mulling over a snappy comeback for Gary’s fish pal, Carl. The artwork brings readers in to the scenes and lets them be part of the action as the three friends learn valuable lessons to go with the fun and crime fighting. If you know readers who enjoy graphic novels such as The Investigators, they’ll love this, as will all those who prefer stories with the emphasis on the visual. Monster on the Hill - his first graphic novel - has been turned into the animated feature film Rumble, out now on Paramount+.

BATPIG follows the amazing, porktastic adventures of Gary Yorkshire – an entirely normal piglet whose world is turned upside down when he’s bitten by his friend, Brooklyn the bat, and develops the power of flight! These days, Harrell is hard at work on a series of Batpig graphic novels - spun off from comics created by the main character of Wink. I also enjoyed how characters from Gary's regular life are the ones who become the villains he must fight. Gary Yorkshire is finally getting into the swing of this whole superhero thing - saving the world from terrible villains, masterfully concealing his identity with a very small mask. Children will love this graphic novel but anyone who is looking for a good laugh should read it, for its bound to put a smile on your face, just like it did mine.

Gary Yorkshire and his friends Brooklyn and Carl are in maths class learning fractions which seems to be taking forever.

Inspired by his old Crimson Swine comics, Gary decides that he’ll use his powers for good and becomes (drumroll) Batpig! When Gary learns of a new villain in town threatening the factory of the town's favourite biscuit makers, he knows he must do something. Grześ od początku nabrania mocy ma ręce pełne roboty i ugania się za bandytami i przywróceniu spokoju w okolicy. And there’s an added bit at the start, the author’s small to those reading which is a great message for kids to read.I love all three of the stories in this book, but the last two really made me laugh even more than the first due to how those two are related and what exactly Batpig has to face and how he manages to come up with a plan to finally defeat what’s there. I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic! Walker) Little does Gary think that playing a trick on Brooklyn will result in his assuming superhero powers!

From talking things out, to trying a different solution, to encouragement, the friends never strayed far from one another. It turns out there are more benefits than you’d think to drawing pigs flying around in their underpants. Anyone who has felt like the one left out of a friendship trio will relate to Carl who is kept out of the superhero secret thanks to his reputation as a bit of a blabbermouth. He enjoyed playing video games, reading comics, taking mud baths and hanging out with his friends, Carl the fish and Brooklyn the bat.
