About this deal

Getting an even coat from the Astrogranite and Mud was quite easy, so you should have no problem there.

I do not find this a huge problem, because I just glue my tufts, skulls and other bits on the newly opened spots, but you need to be aware of this before drybrushing them. Whether you're working on large-scale terrain pieces or tiny details on individual models, these paints offer precise control and easy layering, allowing you to achieve the desired effects. The grit in the paints is made of plastic microbeads which is very bad for the environment if you flush excess material in the drain (do not do that!Agrellan Earth: For an intriguing visual effect of parched, cracked earth, Agrellan Earth is the perfect solution. I find that there is a small difference in the nuance between Agrellan Earth and the Agrelland Badland, as well as between the two versions of the Martian colour. The thin version could be very good to drybrush, but the thick would be a bit hard to get a good effect on.

Both versions can be drybrushed, but with booth earth version you will notice some of the texture coming off. The „modelling sybarites” among us who find great fun in the process of modelling itself and would appreciate playing with a new kind of material.I have some bases I did when these paints first came out years ago, and they are still going strong. All of the Citadel paints are non-toxic, water-based acrylic that are designed for use on plastic, metal, and resin Citadel miniatures. The colour remained the same for all of them in the drying process, but all of the paints shrunk a bit after it was dry. But, there are three good reason for why Citadel textured products are popular and worth the investment. The paints are designed to be compatible with other Citadel paints, allowing for seamless integration into your painting process.

Stirland Mud: A thick, brown paint that comes loaded with texture, it can be used to give the effect of mud, soil, or dirt. For each different texture paint, I have tried to provide pictures that accurately display what it is you are getting from the paint.A new texture paint, Mordant Earth, has arrived (still need to update this post with the new paint). So Astrogranite Debris is the same colour as Astrogranite, Armeggadon Dunes is paired with Armageddon dust and Stirland Battlemire is the same colour as Stirland Mud (more on those other paints in the next section). The Citadel Technical Range is not only about adding texture and effects but also about enhancing the overall realism of your miniatures. Or just have very little time for the hobby and the fact that they get the sand mixed already in the right proportions is worth it for them.

For example, when used on a miniature’s base, Astrogranite can create the impression of a weathered city street or a rocky mountain terrain. While the effect is not as obvious, and will not ‘pop’ in the same way on the table, it looks quite good.I think the two earth crackle paint would be my best suggestion if you want to do the simplest base possible (just put the texture on, drybrush and stop there). The range includes paints like 'Nihilakh Oxide' for creating a weathered turquoise patina, 'Typhus Corrosion' for realistic rust and corrosion, and 'BlOOd for the BlOOd God' for gruesome blOOd spatter effects. This gives more credence to me thinking that my pot might have a crack in it, and the paint has gotten too much air. Whether you're working on fantasy creatures, sci-fi vehicles, or historical figures, these paints allow you to add the perfect finishing touches that bring your models to life.
