In all honesty, most people aren’t going to have much of a use for something like this simply because of how advanced technology has become. Well made and nearly packaged to boot and some reasonable operating and set up instructions included. The Arylic S10 is a tiny, USB-powered, wired or wireless streamer that does 24bit/192kHz, Airplay, Spotify Connect, QPlay, DLNA, UPnP, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, Qobuz, etc. The S10 hooks up to Spotify, Tidal (again, no DSD or MQA so don't expect to get it), Qobuz, Deezer, Tune In and a few others. I’m putting this 70 quid little box into thirty grand-worth of amp and speakers and it should sound pretty shit – it really doesn’t sound at all terrible and I’m not just talking for the money.All I know is that I want something like S10 but expandable with external DAC ( S10 lacks Digital Out connector). bass meaning kick up the deep bass for weak bookshelf speakers or just to boost low output for a fuller sound. It turned out that Arylic was right when they claimed that the sound is better with the DAC compared to the original analog output. The more elaborated version includes optical/digital port and an upgraded DAC, which can be a better choice for a streaming amp build. Only when using iPad based musical instruments could I detect any lag at all, at that was so minimal it is not an issue.

However, at the level the S10 is pitched there will be few people that will find cause for complaint. There is a lag when streaming video and music through Apple AirPlay which makes videos a bit hard to watch. It’s a little bit harsh at the top end and ragged around the edges if you analyse it closely, but it’s certainly more than listenable. Irritatingly, I can see the device registered as a DLNA client on my NAS OS but the app can't see the server so I can't choose it as a source. Bluetooth for me is a bit of an academic subject as it rarely works properly on any product and it was the same here for me.I like this option when using an external Amplifier that takes OPT/COAX inputs my flac files never sounded so good! But the S10 box includes high resolution analogue circuitry, and using a standard USB adapter results in a low level noise component, particularly on the left channel. I haven't investigated the USB option as my NAS does not support this for file serving but the Aux In function works ok if you want to pass through from another device. Do keep in mind that these services are available through the app; they don’t have anything to do with the unit itself. Mix and match any combination of Arylic products to create a custom multi-room system and play the same music throughout your home, send different sources to each room at the same time, or create your own custom-defined multi-room zones.

I will describe my experience with S10 and Up2Stream and maybe with some other models , hopefully Up2Stream HD DAC.It is a multi-room device as well which means you can stream with multiple units connected in the same network. Simply press the WPS button and enter your home Wi-Fi password to integrate the S10 into your home network and begin streaming music within 30 seconds! WIFI is generally the easiest way to get up and running, but as just touched on above, it sometimes takes a while.
