About this deal

You may like it, for whater reason, as it's not some sort of laughable, chemical garbage, but it can't compare to older formulations, IMO. I remember he owned Armani Aqua Di Gio, YSL Kouros (iconic bottles I'll never forget) that's the only reason I remember that my dad owned them. It's like I have known this scent all my life after I first sprayed it as soon as I received a 240ml bottle as a Christmas present.

As far as the scent goes, what I do get from Aramis is an image of an old fashioned gentleman's lounge with expensive Chinese or Persian carpets, wooden wall panels, massive book shelves of old expensive wood, paintings of kings, royalties, heads of governments and states, fragrant old leather couches that give off a strong and deep luxurious leather scent that fills the air with an intoxicating feeling of excess and hedonistic luxury, and an open fireplace with burnt firewood, and a large chest of drawers with expensive alcoholic beverages gracing the top of it. It begins with mainly a spicy herbal composition, but takes on a bit of softness that adds dimension. A perfume can be the story of a person, of a passion, of a journey, it can be a lost love, it can be whatever we want, reflect the weather, our state of mind, the people we are going to be with. But before I could sell it I gave it one more try at home on skin and the fragrance became much more manageable, likeable even. He's not the loudest one in the room but he will get noticed because he stands out quietly and with class. It's really hard to fairly judge something so old in these terms, but being a splash, I'd say staying power is very similar to the newer spray.

But I can say this much - every time I somehow catch a whiff, I am immediately transported back to the hallways of St. It takes me back in the 70's when i was a kid and I smelled this on the adult men Every real man should have it among a few other classics. but despite the reformulations, few colognes keep their image as "real male cologne", ARAMIS is one of them.To be fair, the vintage is a bit darker than I remember it, owing probably to some settling and concentration, even though the bottle was full when I got it -- so any comments regarding strength and top note composition will admittedly be a bit skewed by this. wearing my ARAMIS cologne makes me feel like the bear in the forest that marks his territory to let other males know that the boss is in town. I have to admit that in the beginning when I sprayed it on a piece of paper on a relatively hot day in the beginning of May it turned my stomach and made me feel nauseous from the pure sharp power of the fragrance. Overall, I like this fragrance a lot, but it is dated and since I owned it I've found many other fragrances that I like a lot more.

The first time I smelled it, I was completely intimidated by it and simultaneously bewildered by it. The man is stern and strong, runs a series of restaurants in the city, and commutes in a blue Chevrolet Impala. I now have 20 different kinds of Aramis on my shelf along with do many other fragrances -(Hogo boss, Joop, Calvin klein etc. I'm not too sure about the hype around this one, as I haven't found any distinct notes to the scent that make it memorable. If the spicy opening doesn't break you down like the pathetic little pantywaist you are, then the drydown sure as hell will. The dry down becomes really flowery for me with the middle and top notes, i notice sage, myrrh and patchouli really well. The similarities to Cabochard are obvious from the start, as to Azurée, both Bernard Chant creations. What you get is a wonderful old school musky leathery accord that is found in the old greats like Vintage Bel Ami and Vintage Derby by Guerlain. Despite this being super old, and when I say Old, I mean great grandad used to wear this when I was a child!
