Oh, thanks for that information, I thought the mention of coronavirus was new… But I do think that if coronavirus can be vanquished by 20 seconds hand washing with a bar of soap, then Dettol are being disingenuous.A washing machine obviously cannot do this and depending on the load in the machine you will likely also get variable “cleanliness”.

That’s not so surprising, as it started its life in hospitals where it was used in surgical procedures to clean cuts, wounds etc. I’m surprised no one has thought to manufacture a fragrance free cleanser if I’m honest as I think more people would use them if it didn’t interfere with their chosen laundry scents. Synonyms: infected, festering, suppurating, pus-filled, putrid, putrefying, putrefactive, purulent, poisoned, diseased.

When you have an immunocompromised person in the house, any extra steps to keep things super-hygenic are absolutely allowable!
