Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). Still, this watch battery is more than good enough to trust for an all-day race, and that's what counts. So we decided to build a plan for a half marathon race and the first issue was that the app didn’t believe the time from when we wanted to start and finish training wasn’t enough time. Most runners have strong opinions about crowns and nylon straps, so that could influence your opinion.

Uploading routes to follow is done via the My Route menu on the phone app, which is tucked away and lets you sync over GPX files and previous runs. Like the Cheetah, the Cheetah Pro includes Amazfit’s MaxTrack GPS technology, which is essentially its version of the dual-band GPS antenna setups that have started to appear in watches from Garmin, Polar, Apple, and Huawei among others. It has limited ability to pair with external sensors (via BTLE only), so heart rate and power meters only.

An hour’s running on a treadmill saw battery drop by less than 5%, a 20-minute track session saw battery drop by 5% in the top accuracy mode and daily battery drop off with some workout tracking and continuous health monitoring in use saw it last on average a week. The next day it continued to warn me I was at ‘high altitude’ and to be mindful while training – but just look at this elevation graph! We wore it alongside a Garmin watch, which delivers very reliable continuous heart rate readings, and even during sleep, the data felt a lot more reliable in comparison. After all, it’s got a brilliant display, reasonably good battery life, plenty of sport modes, and mostly good heart rate accuracy.

Predictions felt nicely in line with other predictions on a Garmin watch that has a much longer history of data to fuel those predictions. Or if you like what it offers, should you just bite the bullet and spend a little extra on other running watches? It has the ability to create custom structured workouts but not add them to a calendar for scheduling.

It's advertised as "a premium watch for elite runners who want to optimize their performance" and packs a 1. In terms of training features, you can create workouts that can be synced to the watch and then there are more advanced features like Zepp Coach and the AI-powered Zepp Coach Chat. This means that the watch can generate personalized training plans based on the user's current running level, target race date and distance, and personal goals. The one up top is a twisting crown type, which has been the go-to approach for a lot of smartwatch makers getting into the sports watch space.

The Pro's Closet has been a long-time partner of the site here - including sponsoring videos like my cargo bike race, as well as just being an awesome Colorado-based company full of good humans. While the Amazfit Cheetah Pro is pitched as a running watch, it’s capable of tracking everything from swims to strength training, including rep counting and has over 150 sports modes available. You can calibrate the altimeter, but it doesn’t appear to properly calibrate itself using GPS (as a baseline). com or Competitive Cyclist with either the coupon code DCRAINMAKER for first time users saving 15% on applicable products. With those mapping and navigation features, syncing maps over to the watch is pretty straightforward. There is also support to upload routes via the Zepp app and then sync over to the watch to use breadcrumb-style navigation to help you explore new running terrain. The Amazfit Cheetah Pro's bezel is made of Titanium alloy for a premium and professional look, while the middle frame is made of fiber-reinforced polymer to keep the watch lightweight.

Ignore that line that drops out half-way, that’s when I forgot to replace the battery on the chest strap, and it died halfway (and defaulted to the optical HR sensor for that watch, which wasn’t on my skin). The Cheetah Pro packs a 440mAh capacity battery that’s powered up by a type of proprietary charging cable that is at least consistent with the cables Amazfit uses on most of its watches.
