This is a three-in-one build, but there’s a common core build that is shared across all three versions. I have a feeling most builders will make this version of the car first, even if they plan on displaying one of the later versions long-term. The wheel mechanism was one of the things that took longest to design according to Sven, who we had the opportunity to talk to before the set was released thanks to a roundtable discussion organised by the AFOLET department at LEGO. I’m not a huge fan clear stickers unless they include a DB… and the 8×16 info stickers are hard to apply. The construction of hood slightly modified from the other versions, in that the strip of studs seen on the inside is flipped to provide an attachment point for the 1955 box-o-circuitry.

But at long last I think LEGO have released a truly impressive take on the Back to the Future time machine. They look incredible from the side, but from the front, there are large blue gaps where I guess the printing machine can’t get to, but as a sneakerhead, I loved seeing these on Marty. To celebrate the film trilogy, The LEGO®️ Group brings us an all new DeLorean DMC-12 model with tons of details, easter eggs and references. There's some brilliant construction here that creates the flux capacitor from a grappling hook which allows the use of a light brick to illuminate the enclosure.

The box art is really nice, in which we have to destroy the box because it come with the thumb-punch box instead of being sealed with tape… that is a HUGE thumbs down from me! Melding LEGO and Technic in the most ingenious ways, the build is especially challenging but rewarding, especially when you see the functions in action!
