About this deal

Lyn is married to her husband (once a married man whose marriage she ruined), a 2 year old terror of a daughter, and a teen step-daughter (teen says it all). She runs a small breakfast catering company and has the perfect life. Really, she has no issues. There are six characters whose perspectives are played out in the story, and they pop around a bit in their timelines. As mentioned above, I listened to this via audio and found myself charmed by and drawn into every one of their interior voices. The peripheral characters - beyond the primary six - are drawn with depth and humor and feeling. After collecting my thoughts, I realized the usual laugh out loud humor is not prominent in this one, and other than one or two titillating scenes, the dialogue was a little flat, and the characters did not evoke any kind of emotional response from me, until later, once I fully understood the situation. Then I was able to muster up a little sympathy, or at least understanding, for a few of the characters, while others still left me feeling cold, all of which made the book feel overlong, causing me to experience impatience, and frustration, on more than one occasion, which is something you never want a reader to feel. Masquerading as an Earthling news crew, the Space Brigade goes for a bold mission that will test the very limit of their bravery and creativity. This is a novel about family, relationships, sibling relationships that can be intense, vicious at times, but also so loving and all consuming, as only relationships between women can be.

This wasn’t my favorite Liane Moriarty book, but I enjoyed it a lot. A story about triplets—two identical, one fraternal—it’s about the friendship and angry spats that come from having a family. Nobody can piss you off in an instant quite like a family member because it’s never just about the one thing you’re upset about, it’s an accumulation of your shared history. Which is the exact same reason no one will understand you in quite the same way your sisters will—they had the same parents and thus the same strengths and weaknesses facing the world.

Despite their differences, Erika and Clementine have been best friends since they were children. So when Erika needs help, Clementine should be the obvious person to turn to. Or so you'd think. Her novel Big Little Lies was adapted into a television series by HBO, [2] and stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, and Alexander Skarsgård. The series premiered on 19 February 2017, with the first season concluding on 2 April 2017. [3] A second season was announced in December 2017. [4] Season two premiered in June 2019. Whenever I meet a twin I interrogate them with inane, unanswerable questions (eg. “But what’s it like being you?”) I am also the eldest of five girls, and consider myself a leading expert on the subject of sisters. So it wasn’t all that surprising when my first novel turned out to be a story about triplet sisters. Moriarty has a way of portraying her characters that makes me feel like I know them. As I'm reading, I think 'Oh, yes, such-and-such does that', and 'that is just so (insert name)', and 'oh, lord, she's been spying on me!' The main thrust of the story is following the three sisters over the previous year and start to see how that Birthday celebration ended so abruptly.

divorce, adultery, their parents divorce and re-marriage. The ups and downs of their lives was a littleHer mother, father and little brother Squid are forcefully held on the beautiful planet of Whimsy by scaly invaders from nearby Volcomania. The four Delaney children—Amy, Logan, Troy, and Brooke—were tennis stars in their own right, yet as their father will tell you, none of them had what it took to go all the way. But that’s okay, now that they’re all successful grown-ups and there is the wonderful possibility of grandchildren on the horizon. You’re a completest, like me. Having read all of Liane Moriarty’s other novels, it always bothered me that I wouldn’t honestly be able to rave, “I’ve read all your books!” if I ever ran into her at an airport or something. After reading this one - her first, originally published in 2004 - crisis averted!
