About this deal

These can be either a Guitar Hero drum controller ( World Tour, Guitar Hero 5, or Logitech), or a Rock Band drum controller. Also, the bass pedal is weaker on the original Rock Band drum set, and can crack easily if played in the wrong fashion.

In Rock Band 2 however paints a bit of a different picture: the cymbals require a lot of time spent trying to figure out how to hit them (angle and pressure) to register. In fact, one of the kit's most appealing design features is also one of the biggest obstacles for accurate in-game replication—its soft drum pads.Elsewhere, despite Sony's claim a few months ago that the Rock Band 2 and GHWT instruments are cross-compatible, posters on the Rock Band forum claim their new PS3 drum-kits don't work with Rock Band 2.

While I'm not 100% sure about this, supposedly the drums are velocity sensitive, but currently the Rock Band games have no notes you play that require that functionality. I decided that I wanted all areas of the pad to register hits if possible, or at least light ones on the edges. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, given some basic instructions and went through a quick warm-up. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The drum pads are surrounded by a significant amount of seemingly superfluous plastic, which is angled upwards and houses the control pod and cymbal mounts.Guitar Hero 5/ Band Hero/ Warriors of Rock: The Guitar Hero drum kit's orange cymbal would be merged with the Rock Band drum kit's green pad.

The pads and cymbals in the Band Hero drum kit already have piezo triggers and work fine for my needs. I don't play any games like that but as I've read that those controllers can be used in REAPER I figured it might fun to try. I feel the instrument was not properly packed and lacked packaging material to support it inside the box. I own all 3 rock bands and interments from all 3 games I also have all 6 main guitar hero games games and Metallica and both drum kits for the guitar hero system as well as several different wireless guitars with and without the slide bar.The Guitar Hero World Tour drum kit delineates itself from its competitor's version in several key regards, primarily in its arrangement and construction. It could be fixed readily at the manufacturing level, I think, but that begs the question of units already produced. If you pull gently on the wires while watching the sealant carefully you can tell which wires definitely need repaired.

I don't think you're going to find anything expandable and solidly built that meets your specifications though, at least not in the realm of toy instruments. The Drummer is a non-playable character that appears in Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, with a cameo in the Guitar Hero World Tour intro sequence. While the Rock Band drum set is far cheaper than the Rock Band 2 one, it's not quite as durable as the Rock Band 2 set. The cymbals however require some adjustment - in GHWT they work reasonably well, you can hit them at an angle and the hits register 99% of the time.
