Not only bad books, with a weird writing style, bad plot and horrible characterisation, but also books that you’ve started thinking they were going to be great, and were instead quite underwhelming. While it's definitely an improvement on Demon Dentist (which for me just went off the rails), and contained more emotion, it's simply not as laugh-out-loud funny as Gangsta Granny or as heartfelt as my favourites - Billionaire Boy and The Boy in the Dress. The dark aspects I'll be interested to ask our young library customers about. It may wash over them. But if your child was upset by the ending of Gangsta Granny, you might want to read this yourself first.

The Oompa Loompas did a smashing acapella version of Don't Worry Be Happy.) man) Artist Grant Wood was a guiding force in the school'of painting known as American regionalist, a style reflecting the distinctive characteristics of art from rural areas of the United States. Wood began drawing animals on the family farm at the age of three, and when he was thirty-eight one of his paintings received a remarkable amount of public notice and acclaim. This painting, called "American Gothic," is a starkly simple depiction of a serious couple staring directly out at the viewer. God, I cannot wait for Arabella’s book/novella (if we get one). Terrible Book Covers for Classic Novels

Yay! Arabella is rad! Very happy to hear she’ll be in more stories. After every new story, I’m convinced the sister in THAT book is my favorite. Really curious to see which one I end up liking the most ten years from now. you will hear a question about the conversation. The conversations and questions will not be repeated. The revenge plan? It was fun, but was that toilet part necessary? It felt silly, unnecessary and quite disgusting to read it. Pee and poo "humour" isn't something I want to see in books. I think I’m getting the idea of why it’s awful. It’s not because the story is bad, but it’s just TOO GOOD for words. If this is the final book for Catalina, it means the book also needs to “merge” the story going to Arabella. OMG. Nevada is my favorite. Cat –I love—but she hasn’t replaced her sister in my heart…LEON is a close second but I think I WILL LOVE Arabella —gah!

I'm glad that children love these books. David Walliams is helping keep libraries and bookshops busy with children requesting his titles, just as J. K. Rowling has done, this generation are enjoying their books and hopefully spring-boarding to other authors and titles that will fire their imaginations. A row of bodies lay on the ground, sealed in body bags. One, two, … Nine. An enormous metal club, covered with dark stains, rested next to them. Connor had given it to Arabella for her eighteenth birthday. That explained the ruined vehicles. Good. I was afraid she might have stomped on them. The last time she went on a stomping spree, she cut her monster foot and we had the devil of a time making her get the tetanus shot. Don't tell me that stuff is okay because it's a kid's book or a funny book. It's not okay to present children with sloppy crap and bad writing. And to call the plot rambling and tissue-thin is to overpraise wildly. If you removed the blether, repetition and scenes that have no impact on the plot, it would be maybe 40pp long.

Part A Directions: In Part A you will hear short conversations between two people. After each conversation, A wonderfully wordy opening scene (expect KS2 teachers to use this in Literacy lessons on descriptive language), setting the snowy scene in Saxby Hall. Wordsworth Classics certainly likes to play with Photoshop. The results may leave you feeling like something’s not quite right. How many awkward things can you spot in this cover art for Middlemarch? Apart from that I have no complaints. It's quite a brutal book in the Roald Dahl vein with multiple murders, some quite grisly. It is genuinely funny, genuinely interesting, and at the last, genuinely touching. Yay!!! I am so glad Arabella is featured in this snippit- thank you for sharing!
