W.Arends, (descendant of astilbe botanist Georg Arends (1863-1952)), bred the Geisha series of evergreen azaleas during the 1960's. (Haruko, Hiroko, Kazuko, Kumiko, Michiko a Takako). Geisha Orange was introduced in 1971 as Satschiko, a variety which was closest to the colour orange, a shade that has been difficult to breed in the world of evergreen azaleas Cherry laurel—The upright and fast growth habit of the evergreen cherry laurel bushes make these perfect for flowering hedges or specimen bushes.
