From what I’ve read online as well as some of my personal experience, Koi watercolors seem to be geared more towards the amateur to mid-level watercolor artist.

I noticed that if you don't go pretty light on some of the colors they don't break down completely and you end up with a chalky tone, but if you start light and work darker they are fine. When I first started painting it took me a while to figure out which colors to use and how to organize them. Koi fish are incredibly decorative Japanese fish and are well known for their variety of colors and markings. They maybe abit difficult at first as you try to get used to/and experiment with the brush [it's limits] and the colours but they are lovely to use.This is similar to the step before only I’m adding smaller shapes to just a few places to intensify the color and add an extra layer of texture.

I personally chose the 48 count because I thought it would give me a good range of colors while also being affordable. Paint the whole of the koi fish in blue, but leave the upper sides slightly lighter toned where they’re turned towards the light. These watercolour sets contain everything you need: mixing palettes, sponges and Koi Water Brushes (brushes with water tanks), so you can paint anywhere, at any time!

So far, the paints have held up and don’t fall out of the pans they’re in (something I’ve found to be somewhat of a problem in Crayola watercolors. I bought a pack of unbleached flat cloth diapers to use as brush wipes and they are my new favorite things.It does have an odd feature in that the tip screws on in the opposite direction than you would expect: Righty loosey, lefty tighty. A small, sleek design that fits into a shirt or jacket pocket, the perfect set for painting on the go. And what you'll have is the fibre brush, the black cage supporting it and sponge ring and the black cap with the stalk. That’s why it’s important to hold off judging a watercolor brand until you have really worked with it for at least a couple of weeks.

The detachable pegged palette secures to the kit base either to the right, left or center sides. The box sets come with a refillable medium tip size waterbrush that breaks down into two parts for storage. They mention that it's great for travelling, the water brush is good quality and that it can be attached to the side of the palettes.
