About this deal

Wife of Suspected Long Island Serial Killer Accused of 'Trying to Capitalize' on Case With New Docuseries To achieve the perfect cleaning, we also need a suitable cleaning fluid. Alcoholic cleaning fluids can destroy musical micro information of the grooves. That‘s the reason we designed our new eco-friendly non-alcoholic cleaning fluid called „Wash it 2“. Our new Wash it 2 is a pre-mixed liquid, so you don‘t have to dilute the concentrate yourself anymore. This avoids acidentally using unsuitable tap water for mixing. With Wash it 2 we can optimize the cleaning performance again. The VC-E2 is very powerful and cleans records completely in one to two revolutions. While Pro-Ject recommends explicitly using their own Wash-It fluid with this machine, I’ve found I can also achieve great results with other third-party cleaning fluids.

The Project VCS MKI (which I’m reviewing) features an aluminum arm and base. The MKII, however, features a nylon arm and nylon base. The second issue concerns not the machine but the included cleaning fluid, Pro-Ject Wash It. I have discovered that cleaning a record with the Pro-Ject cleaning fluid leaves a tiny bit of dried fluid residue, not visible to the naked eye but definitely there. Perhaps this is a “feature not a bug,” for example to provide some anti-static property to the record. Or perhaps it’s unintentional. After a fair amount of research, I’m uncomfortable with anything that leaves any residue on the record, though I cannot discern any degradation in sound quality when I listen to records I’ve cleaned with the Pro-Ject fluid. But those with more resolving systems or better hearing than me might. One thing I really like is how the VCS handled the fluid that collects inside the machine. If you don’t know, you’re going to have to pour out and discard some of the dirty fluid that collects inside the machine. But, if you’re looking for the best solution in this particular area, I think it’s the Project VCS hands down. Many collectors across the vinyl community expressed their confusion as to why the vent is positioned on top in the first place. I can only conclude there must be a design reason for this, as the new vent cover appears to be a solution to this criticism while maintaining the same position of said vent.I use a Cleanervinyl Pro XL mounted on a UC3360 ultrasonic cleaner. This setup will allow you to thoroughly yet gently clean up to 16 (7”to 12”) vinyl records simultaneously, with rotation speed and temperature control from room temperature to 80°C. Also, you can automate the time spent on each of 3 frequencies: 40kHz, 80kHz and 120kHz. When the cycle is complete it has decent sized fans to dry off your clean, static-free records. If you’re seeking to clean vinyl records for audiophile sound quality, step it up to the Pro-Ject VC-S2, trusted by record stores around the country. Pair it with a carbon-fiber record cleaning brush and stylus brush. Your turntable will never sound the same to you again! VC-E & VC-S2 Setup Notes Now, this is probably more of an OCD problem than a TRUE problem. No one’s records are now unplayable because the clean side got a bit of cross dust and dirt contamination thanks to laying on a slightly uncleaned Okki Nokki platter for five minutes. So while the exhaust positioning of the VC-E might be a deal-breaker for some, I couldn’t replicate the issue under what I might conclude as normal everyday use.

The new VC-E2 is our new compact record cleaning machine with completely new, superior features. Vinyl records need a specific maintenance. The dry brush cleaning before playing the record is good to roughly remove dust. To effectively clean the grooves, you need to wet clean the record.Using the VC-E is simple, but good technique is essential to maximize the VC-E’s cleaning potential. The machine comes with a small bottle of concentrated cleaning fluid, along with a larger bottle for the mixed-with-water cleaning solution, as well as a cleaning brush. One useful item that is missing from the VC-E accessory kit is a small applicator bottle to apply the solution to your records. I had a spare spray bottle around that I used for that purpose. The only real anomaly is the clear plastic disc for protecting the underside of a record when cleaning huge amounts of records in one go. Cleaning Records with the VC-E At 2 seconds per rotation, VC-E is about 3 times faster than comparable cleaning machines, resulting in faster and more effective record cleaning.
