About this deal

A tale of humanity’s deadliest weapon that drives us all to do the unthinkable, written in the blood of its heroes, the scorching sands of the desert, and the fires of war that never leave anyone without scars. The depth and intensity of the emotional dynamics between the characters and their introspection is breathtaking.

She also bears the Salar a favoured son, Lasura, who must fight for dominance and his very life among his many half-brothers from various other wives of the Salar.Whether it’s also about ‘romance’ depends on whether you mean ‘dramatic gestures as an outpouring of sexually-driven emotion’ or ‘the subgenre of romantic fiction, with all its tropes’. This time, he ends up with the choice to be killed by the Shaksis or to become Djari’s sworn sword and blood, per the suggestion of Nazir, Djari’s brother.

None of them are pure hero or pure villain (apart from one nasty, pathetic misogynist) and that is one of the many strengths of Obsidian. The prince demands the woman, named Zahara, a proud tribal member of the fierce and nomadic Kha’gans, reveal the well-guarded secret location of Citara, a coveted stronghold, and threatens that he will give her over to all of his soldiers to be brutally raped and killed if she does not comply. Obsidian: Awakening is a relentless story of endurance that tackles heavy real-world topics in a brutally honest way, while also being utterly transportive and serving as a safe haven for broken souls who seek refuge from the real world.

There are philosophical questions which race around your head trying to figure out what is the right answer. That’s because everything about this magnificent book makes it a fertile oasis for waxing lyrical about it.

I am not kidding when I say that I read the final 300 pages of this book in one day, because it was simply that compelling to me.That at the opportunity to gain that trust with Muradi, Jarem did not trust Muradi or act trustworthy, and instead went and did something out of that desire… More on this later. It’s flowering and expressive, and as a consequence sometimes you get dialogue followed by a description repeating said dialogue. And I have to add one more thing, even though I said I was not going to, since for some reason this last paragraph brought it to mind.
