About this deal

Children will be drawn into the enchanting stories, whilst the adults reading the stories will fondly remember when they used to watch it on TV.

My 4 year old daughter just adores this book which we bought because she cried every time the library copy had to be taken back!A stone-age community live right next to a dusty and dangerous road, frequented by dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, but want to live in the fresh green countryside. David McKee, creator of Elmer and Not Now, Bernard, has won the 2020 BookTrust Lifetime Achievement Award. David McKee was born and brought up in South Devon, where he went from grammar school to Plymouth Art College. There are four separate Extraordinary Adventures, with Mr Benn becoming a diver, red knight, caveman and spaceman. According to Mr Benn's Little Book of Life, very little of McKee's original artwork created for the television episodes exists today, as most of it was thrown into a rubbish skip in the 1970s.

It is a much larger book than I expected, with huge pictures which look exactly the same as the TV series, only with some words too.Since 1964 he has published a number of successful books for children throughout the world, and many of them have been adapted for television. Large colourful illustrations and text that does not talk down to children (ie so I am not sick of reading the stories over the over again). David McKee is the author and illustrator of over 100 children's books and the creator of several memorable characters besides Mr Benn, including Elmer the Patchwork Elephant and King Rollo. In the early part of his career, McKee regularly drew and sold humorous drawings to magazines and newspapers such as The Times Educational Supplement, Punch and the Reader’s Digest.

A red suit of armour catches Mr Benn’s eye, and when he tries it on he finds himself transported to a land full of castles, dungeons and dragons! Verpackung deutlich über 500 Gramm wiegt [Bitte beachten: Die genannten Versandkosten gelten unabhängig davon, welche Portokosten der ABEBOOKS/ZVAB-Computer auswirft]. Elektronische Impulse [auf Label:] Elektronisches Scherzo / Sonate für Klavier (1951) / Aprèslude - Vier Lieder nach Gedichten von Gottfried Benn / What about this, Mr. Some of the spreads of Mr Benn, in full armour, leading the king and his knights out to bring home the dragon would fit right in to the Bayeux Tapestry, and are wonders of movement, humour, detail and perspective. Each is based on the classic children's TV series (first aired in 1971, if you want to suddenly feel incredibly old).So many of the full page spreads in these books are worthy of hanging in an art gallery and the playful, retro visuals guide you through each story with a variety of cool graphic styles on display. Eventually, out of thin air, a magician (who looks familiar) appears and makes objects disappear, concluding with Mr Benn who arrives back in the changing room.
