About this deal

The book shows multiple times how to take a shape of a person’s pose, make a skeletal figure, and then add the meat and muscles. The consistent labelling with small footnotes on every page is way more informative and digestible than reams of dry text. The must-have guide for all artists who draw the human figure This small, portable book presents a unique perspective on the head, face, and neck for artists to study and implement in their drawing work. Geared toward artists of all levels, from beginners through professionals, this handy, pocket-sized book will help spark your imagination and creativity. In this book, Michel Lauricella presents both his artistic and systematic methods for drawing the human body--with drawing techniques from the ecorche (showing the musculature underneath the skin) to sketches of models in action.

El primer tomo es una colección de ilustraciones que muestran lo esencial para construir un volumen debajo del pelo, la grasa y la piel. The typical approach to teaching anatomy and the sketching of the human form most often focuses on the skeleton and musculature. Geared toward artists of all levels--from beginners through professionals--this handy, pocket-sized book will help spark your imagination and creativity. I have some difficulty with the overall anatomy of the body, but this book is so detailed that I can just open it whenever I'm stuck in a particular body part. In this book, Michel Lauricella presents both his artistic and systematic methods for drawing the human body—with drawing techniques from the écorché (showing the musculature underneath the skin) to sketches of models in action. In this book, Lauricella focuses exclusively on the hands and feet--arguably the most popular and, for many, the most challenging parts of the body to draw successfully. Whether your interest is in figure drawing, fine arts, fashion design, game design, or creating comic book or manga art, you will find this helpful book filled with actionable insights.

What often goes ignored is the skin itself--how it moves and the expressions it creates as the body moves and changes positions. If your beginning in drawing and want to get better at anatomy and human body just read this and draw every page for like 1/2 month combined with other human model references and I PROMISE you will get better. In recent years, perspective views have swept into the foreground in the field of landscape architecture. An “illuminating” (Daily Mail, London) exploration of the second generation of the iconic Bloomsbury Group who inspired their elders to new heights of creativity and passion while also pushing the boundaries of sexual freedom and gender norms in 1920s England.

In this book, artist and teacher Michel Lauricella offers more than 300 original drawings and diagrams. In more than 1,000 illustrations, the human body is shown from a new perspective—from bone structure to musculature, from anatomical detail to the body in motion. What sets this apart from other anatomy or figure drawing books is its amount of invented drawing poses. The difference is in this book there's more breakdown into the different parts of the body, muscles, bone structure and how the different parts work together. There is not a lot of text with discussion of attachment points or range of motion or joint descriptions; rather it is full of well executed drawings that allow an artist to understand the structure of the human body AND offer a master class in line drawing.

I draw as often as possible and nothing beats a real life model, but this is a good book for practising and working out where various muscles etc go.This is different from a dry technical labelling of anatomy from a couple of positions prevalent in many artistic anatomy books. Morpho is a rich, fascinating, and helpful book that can go with you everywhere on your sketching journey. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Over a year ago I purchased the highly recommended “Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist” by Peck and was severely disappointed.
