About this deal

A mixture of quirky characters, mystery, and crime-solving activities, not to mention a few laughs too. Basic what I’m saying here is that Angela did more than enough to convince me she needs her own spin-off series. The story opens as college student Amy Antrim is run down and nearly killed by a hit-and-run driver, leaving her dependent upon a cane to walk.

There are many twists and turns and red herring that leaves you guessing which will help you solve the case. I particularly enjoyed Angela Rizzoli’s character in this story and liked how Gerritsen used her to highlight how older women are often invisible and easily dismissed. Angela Rizzoli, Jane’s mother is never far from the action and is conducting her own investigation into suspicious goings on across the road concerning her new neighbours. A very satisfying mystery where Rizzoli's mum is concerned about the new couple across the street, very concerned.Listen To Me is the thirteenth book in the Rizzoli and Isles series by best-selling, award-wining American author, Tess Gerritsen. While this is no cosy mystery, there is added domestic and character interest which add occasional light humour to the narrative. It seems that there is something suspicious about the new neighbors who have moved in across the street. You can feel yourself in the hands of a masterful storyteller as Gerritsen expertly takes the everyday and merges it with the macabre. Maybe the apple didn't fall too far from the tree: Nothing in Angela's neighborhood gets by her--not the gossip about a runaway teenager down the block and definitely not the strange neighbors who have just moved in across the street.

I couldn’t wait to not only be back with the familiar characters, but also immerse myself in Gerritsen’s darkly atmospheric words. There are many twists and turns in this mystery, and although I had suspicions as to who the killer was, I was not certain until the end.I detested the Angela character, don’t waste your time with it, which is sad as I was looking forward to it. Jane and partner Barry Frost are investigating the nurse's murder and the abduction of another woman. Can’t imagine anything more tedious than their Scrabble get-togethers, so reading about them was incredibly irritating. It was so GOOD to fall back into Rizzoli and Isles' lives and live with them as they once again worked on a nasty and nail-biting case.

I wanted to read it all in one sitting, but, unfortunately, life got in the way and I had to do it over two days. Rizzoli knows they need to protect this young woman, but it’s only tangentially connected to her murder case, isn’t it? Full of all the needed elements for a great book, Gerritsen offers up a winner for series fans and general readers alike. Only reason for 4 star is that it still lacks the X factor of her previous books but enjoyable none the less. There are other things happening in the neighborhood as well, and Angie is in the middle of all of it.Every neighborhood has an Angela but she is particularly good at noticing abnormalities in patterns and behaviors. Nothing in her neighborhood gets by Angela—not the gossip about a runaway teenager down the block and definitely not the strange neighbors who have just moved in across the street.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Their enquiries lead them to Amy Antrim, a young student seriously injured in a hit and run accident months before, whose father is an acquaintance of Maura’s. She also wrote a screenplay, "Adrift," which aired as a 1993 CBS Movie of the Week starring Kate Jackson. This was a very entertaining read as you ride along with Jane and try to figure out what did Sofia know?

Jane Rizzoli is trying to solve the baffling homicide of a normal everyone-loves-her nurse, murdered in her own home.
