About this deal

First things first, we had to prise Juin Tech's R1 brakes out of their attractive lime-green packaging and fit them onto the bike. We have tested the R1 brakes in the 3 Peaks Cyclocross race, outstanding braking performance and stopping power. As the brake pads wear out over time, the caliper will need occasional adjustment to bring the pads in closer to the rotor. only issue I have with them on initial install the pistons are pushing the pads to the disc rotor and its constantly rubbing when aligned, may have to break them in but the pistons are very tight even after adjusting the hand adjuster. The Juin tech F1 hydraulic cable pull road disc brake set offers a unique solution to the rider wanting to upgrade from mechanical cable pull disc brakes.

Pair of cable hydraulic disc brakes F1 Flat Mount 160mm black - "plug-and-play" system compatible with mechanical systems - oil tank for automatic pad position https://www.We received a sample set towards the end of 2015 and have been riding them through the goop of a (very) wet British winter. In the box, you get a set of brake calipers in a choice of bling anodized finishes: JuinTech sent us the red. The brakes operate in a closed circuit and therefore do not need to bleed, there are two adjustments, one for cable play and one for oil pressure / pad distance. On the rare occasion that we ship you an incorrect item or your item arrives damaged, please get in touch with us so that we can resolve the issue as quickly as we can.

We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The GT-F are compatible with Shimano and SRAM too though, and I can imagine would be an attractive proposition for anyone looking to port their high-end Di2 or eTAP groupset to a new disc brake frame. They came completely disassembled so had to put the whole thing together and fill and bleed the cables. The F1 is the latest addition to the Juin Tech stable, sold as a set including mounting bolts, adaptors and rotors.

For non-mechanics, you'll be pleased to hear this process is very simple, exactly the same as fitting a set of cable disc brakes. The brakes were put through their paces on some of the most gruelling descents you would every try to ride a cyclocross bike. I got caught in a summer shower - downpour might be more accurate - on the bike's maiden run, which gave me a good chance to test the brakes.

Perhaps Campag's hydraulic shifters just shade it on lever feel, but in terms of performance the Juin Tech GT-F are every bit as good. Ok, not as good as a fully sealed hydraulic system, but I find them more robust than mechanical discs in wet and mud as I find mechanical systems fill their guys with crap and stop working effeectively.

I’ve run the Acor version of these on my hack/gravel/mooching about bike for around a month now, with Tiagra 10spd sti. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.

In the nice green box you get the two calipers, a pair of 160mm discs, pair of adapter mounts and the mounting bolts for everything. The hybrid system offers the cyclist the option of replacing the mechanical brake caliper with a hydraulic 2-piston brake caliper while retaining the brake cables. But once they've bedded in, they'll allow you to brake later and more confidently, and that's definitely worth paying for.Pads and discs make all the difference, I have wheels with Galfer superlight and others with Sram discs, and the Sram brake quite a bit better. So saying – I’ll be treating the Tripster over the next few months with an upgrade to shimano full hydraulic / 11 speed, which I’m looking forward to. Had to adjust them for pad wear for the first time this weekend which involved turning the adjuster wheel which is just below the bare cable in the picture of the rear brake above so fairly easy, but I believe Trp Hy/Rd adjust themselves so a minus point there. We don't ship worldwide by default but if you're after something specific, we'll be more than happy to help.
